The sound proofing insulation on the firewall caught fire. There was a recall for sagging insulation catching fire on the EGR heat exchanger for this problem, and mine caught fire anyway. I called 911 and the Corbin KY fire department responded to the seen to confirm the fire was out.

I bought my 2007.5 Dodge Ram 3500 6.7L cummins in 2020 and had Commercial Tire install 4 Brand new Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT and all was great until it wasn't. We mainly drive our pickup local to where we live and the highway speeds are 55mph. In 2025 April I had the front end completely rebuilt and rotated the tires. My son found a dirtbike that was about 3.5 hours away which included freeway driving and as soon as we hit 70mph for about 15 miles I started feeling a vibration it was fairly light at first and on our return trip it steadily got worse. We were about 15 to 20 miles from home and the vibration and bouncing feeling got so bad that we had to slow down to 40 to 45 mph because it was shaking so bad it made you dizzy. I stopped several times to look over the pickup and couldn't figure out what was causing the severe vibration/bouncing. I made it a few more miles and stopped to look over my pickup and that's when I noticed that the drivers front tire was extremely wavy and the tread are was separating. I ended up having to limp it home (at 25mph) the rest of the way on the backroads so I could keep the speed down and keep from killing me or my family or other people on the road these tires have around 15k miles on them. Now I am going to have to replace all 4 because they are unsafe. These tires are mounted on OEM wheels. Size are LT275/70R17 I run Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires on all 3 of my vehicles and now I'm very concerned about those tires as well. I'm going to have to replace the tires on my wife's vehicle as well because I don't want to risk my wife and kids getting into a accident. I hope something is done to remedy this problem because I don't have 4 thousand dollars to replace these defective tires on all my vehicles.

60 MILES FROM HOME AFTER A 2,000 MILE CAMPING TRIP THE TRUCK SUDDENLY STOPPED. TRAVELING NORTH ON HIGHWAY191 IN YELLOWSTONE PARK THE DASH LIGHTS STARTED TO FLASH AND THE TRUCK DIED. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO PULL OFF THE NARROW ROAD. EMERGENCY FLASHERS DIDN'T WORK AND THERE WAS NO CELLPHONE SERVICE, SNOW WAS FALLING AND TRUCKS BARELY ABLE TO GET AROUND US, WE FEARED FOR OUR LIVES. I OPENED UP THE HOOD AND SMELLED BURNING PLASTIC, THE TIPM WAS MELTED IN SPOTS. FINALLY A KIND MOTORIST STOPPED TO SEE IF WE NEEDED HELP, 20 MILES FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD HE WAS ABLE TO CALL A TOWING SERVICE WHICH TOOK ANOTHER SEVERAL HOURS TO GET TO US. WE WERE TOWED TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP IN BOZEMAN WHERE IT WILL BE ANOTHER2 WEEKS BEFORE THEY CAN GET IT IN.

MY TRUCK SHIFTED ITSELF IN 4WD LOW WHILE GOING 75 MPH DOWN THE INTERSTATE WHICH DESTROYED MY TRANSFER CASE AND TRANSMISSION AND CAUSED MY DRIVE SHAFT TO COME LOOSE WHICH I FEEL IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT AS IT COULD HAVE ROLLED MY TRUCK. I HAVE FOUND OTHERS THAT HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN APPARENTLY BECAUSE OF A ELECTRONIC TRANSFER CASE MOTOR READING THE WRONG SIGNAL AND SHIFTING INTO LOW RANGE WHETHER THE TRUCK IS MOVING OR EVEN RUNNING. IT'S SOMETHING THAT SHOULDN'T HAPPEN ESPECIALLY WITH A MANUAL 4WD SHIFTER
