Ford Motor Company is recalling certain model year 2012-2015 Ford Focus

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2012-2015 Ford Focus, 2013-2015 Ford Escape and Ford C-MAX, 2015 Lincoln MKC and Ford Mustang, and 2014-2016 Ford Transit Connect vehicles. A component within the door latches may break, preventing the doors from latching and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when, in fact, it is not.

The recall was influenced by the Office of Defects Investigation with about 2,046,297 units affected.

Description:: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2012-2015 Ford Focus, 2013-2015 Ford Escape and Ford C-MAX, 2015 Lincoln MKC and Ford Mustang, and 2014-2016 Ford Transit Connect vehicles. A component within the door latches may break, preventing the doors from latching and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when, in fact, it is not.
Consequeces:: A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant.
Corrective action:: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the door latches with an improved part, free of charge. The recall began on January 27, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S30.

2015 FORD C-MAX Complaints
The contact owns a 2015 Ford C-MAX. The contact stated that while seated inside the vehicle and attempting to start the vehicle, the rear-view camera displayed a blinking screen with the message “Camera not Available. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V695000 (BACK OVER PREVENTION); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.;
2015 FORD ESCAPE Complaints
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V695000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that occasionally, while shifted in reverse(R), the rear-view camera failed to display a clear image. The local dealer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.;
2015 FORD FOCUS Complaints
The vehicle experienced a sudden and complete loss of motive power due to an internal engine failure while stopped at an idle in active traffic. The engine stalled completely and would not restart, creating an immediate safety hazard as the vehicle was stranded in the roadway. This failure is directly related to the known issue where the 1.0L EcoBoost wet timing belt degrades, shedding debris that clogs the oil pump screen and starves the engine. Ford's Customer Satisfaction Program 26L02 acknowledges the component failure but does not offer a remedy or safety recall for my specific model year, leaving an unaddressed safety risk on the road.;
2015 FORD MUSTANG Complaints
Clutch assembly failed, the metal bracket weld cracked/failed resulting in the clutch pedal being inoperable. It's not available for inspection since I had it replaced and the defective assembly disposed of. My safety was at risk since I had extreme difficulty shifting gears on the road. The issue was confirmed at an independent service center - AAMCO of Huntsville, AL. No other entity inspected the part. The vehicle gave me no warning or indication of a problem other than the difficulty with starting and operating it.;
2015 LINCOLN MKC Complaints
When I first submitted the VIN# just one hour ago, it responded with 2 open recalls, now it is responding with only one! The one that magically dropped was a major safety issue , a possibility of a cracked fuel injector , which of course could start a fire at any time ! Why did it suddenly disappear?!;
