Chrysler is recalling certain 2011-2014 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2011-2014 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. The affected vehicles had brake booster shields installed under a previous campaign to prevent water from entering the brake booster and limiting braking ability. This recall is to verify that the brake booster shield installation was performed properly.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 646,394 units affected.

Description:: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2011-2014 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. The affected vehicles had brake booster shields installed under a previous campaign to prevent water from entering the brake booster and limiting braking ability. This recall is to verify that the brake booster shield installation was performed properly.
Consequeces:: If the brake booster shield was not installed properly, the vehicle's braking ability may be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake booster shield, correcting the installation as necessary, free of charge. The recall began November10, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T59.

2014 DODGE DURANGO Complaints
Family of 5 traveled back from out of state. Pushed and drove straight through the last 3 hours. When got home and got out of vehicle everyone immediately started feeling ill. 2 kids passed out and we called 911. Fire department detected a carbon monoxide leak in the vehicle. All 5 family members were poisoned and taken by Ambulance to the nearest hospital. ER doctors told us we were lucky to be alive. There were no warning lamps or messages. The 2 of the kids were tired and had headaches but we didn't think much about it. We've been told it's a few different things and are getting the run around from our dealership that we purchased the vehicle from. They've also told us they don't have any way to test it but demanded we go pick it up after they replaced a manifold bolt. My husband got about halfway home and the censor that we'd bought for our vehicle started going off, so back to the shop it went and now they're saying there is a clamp that needs replaced as well. We just want it to be made right. We also don't want this happening to anyone else. I don't think people even know this is a possibility. Is there anything you can do to help?;
2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Complaints
While maneuvering in a parking garage and switching between reverse and forward, the engine suddenly and unprompted revved excessively, sounding as though the accelerator pedal was floored. The vehicle forcefully lunged forward against braking pressure into a cement wall, causing front-end damage to the vehicle. Cruise control was completely disabled and no check engine light or warning indicators illuminated on the dashboard. At no time did I feel like I had control over the car. I sustained some contusions. No one was in the vicinity at the time; however, other cars and/or people could have been struck. The vehicle has yet to be examined by anyone although I am in the process of arranging for an autobody repair shop. Prior to this, the car was in its usual state of health without any issues.;
