Daimler Vans USA, LLC is recalling certain 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles

Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (Platform 907) vehicles equipped with high-beam assist. A software error in the control unit may prevent the driver from being able to switch off the high beams when intended.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 1,517 units affected.

Description:: Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (Platform 907) vehicles equipped with high-beam assist. A software error in the control unit may prevent the driver from being able to switch off the high beams when intended.
Consequeces:: Being unable to turn off the high beams may result in oncoming traffic being blinded by the vehicle's lights, increasing the risk of crash.
Corrective action:: DVUSA will notify owners, and Mercedes-Benz or Freightliner Sprinter dealers will update the control unit software, free of charge. The recall began June 14, 2019. Owners may contact DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267. DVUSA's number for this recall is VS3FERNLI.

2019 FREIGHTLINER SPRINTER 2500 Complaints
The contact owns a 2019 Freightliner Sprinter 2500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V100000 (Visibility, Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.;
2019 MERCEDES-BENZ SPRINTER 2500 Complaints
While taking off from a traffic light the rear end came apart on the inside of the differential. Has someone been in a dangerous area or remote areas like where I have to work it could have been a serious issue;

Description of Incident:The electronic ignition module suffered a sudden failure due to unsealed manufacturer water intrusion, leaving the vehicle completely stranded with an immediate safety hazard. Component failed & available for inspection: Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS) module / Ignition Control Module. Yes, it is available for inspection. Safety risk: The sudden failure causes an immediate safety hazard by leaving the vehicle completely stranded with no way to shift the transmission into neutral to pull it out of harm's way. Confirmed by dealer/independent center: NO, the vehicle has not been towed to a shop yet due to the high cost of repairs. Inspected by manufacturer/police/insurance: NO Warning lamps or symptoms prior: There were no warning messages. The ignition system simply went completely dead without warning.;
