General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, and 2020 Silverado 2500, Silverado 3500, Sierra 2500, and Sierra 3500 vehicles equipped with carpet floor covering. When the front seat belt pretensioners deploy, hot gas may vent through an opening in the pretensioner bracket, possibly igniting the carpet.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 556,399 units affected.

Description:: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, and 2020 Silverado 2500, Silverado 3500, Sierra 2500, and Sierra 3500 vehicles equipped with carpet floor covering. When the front seat belt pretensioners deploy, hot gas may vent through an opening in the pretensioner bracket, possibly igniting the carpet.
Consequeces:: A vehicle fire could result if materials ignite inside the vehicle.
Corrective action:: GM will notify owners, and dealers will close off the opening in the pretensioner bracket, free of charge. The recall began December 13, 2019. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267. GM's number for this recall is N192270600.

2019 CHEVROLET MALIBU HYBRID Complaints
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced various intermittent electrical failures while driving at various speeds. The contact stated that the power locks and windows either failed to operate as needed or independently operated while driving. The vehicle was inspected by a friend, and a potential issue with the ground fault cable was found. The friend recommended that a dealer inspect the vehicle. The contact stated that the instrument panel intermittently displayed the messages, "Steering Column Lock Needs Service", "Check Engine", and other unknown messages. Additionally, the brake pedal depressed to the floorboard while attempting to start the vehicle but resumed normal operation after the vehicle was started. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but has not yet been diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.;

Vehicle came to abrupt stop with no warning and no reason. There was not a vehicle in front of me, nor behind me when this occurred. If there had been a vehicle coming behind me there would have been a collision.;
2020 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500 Complaints
The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission was slipping and shifting hard. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V083000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The dealer was notified of the failure, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.;
2020 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 3500 Complaints
VIN: [XXX] Make/Model/Year: 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD, Duramax L5P, Allison 10L1000 Recall: N242454440 / N242454441 (NHTSA 24V797) Description: Vehicle had N242454440 completed May 2026 (TCM software update for harsh shift / wheel lockup). On XXX at 103k miles, vehicle exhibited same defect: harsh downshift 8th-9th gear, CEL on. Diagnosed as TCM failure per N242454441. Vehicle at O'Reilly Chevrolet Tucson since XXX (18 days out of service as of XXX). Dealer states TCM on national backorder, SPAC ticket opened, no ETA. Dealer denied courtesy transportation stating out of warranty at 103k, despite recall being federal safety recall with 15yr/150k special coverage. This is failure of remedy for safety recall that can cause momentary rear wheel lockup. No parts available, no transportation provided. What I want: GM to provide rental coverage and expedite TCM repair per recall obligations. 2020 GMC SIERRA 1500 Complaints
Lifter failed due to AFM system. Cyl 8 misfire due to oil fouling. The onboard computer got confused and would not release the parking brake until repeated attemtps to release it. 5.3L V8 2020 model year 115250 miles. Isn't this the same problem as the 2021 and newer engines? 8spd transmission. AFM failure. $9k repair.;
