General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2016 GMC Sierra 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500, and Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 trucks. The roof-rail air bag (RRAB) inflator end cap may detach from the inflator.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 9,279 units affected.

Description:: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2016 GMC Sierra 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500, and Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 trucks. The roof-rail air bag (RRAB) inflator end cap may detach from the inflator.
Consequeces:: If the end cap separates from the inflator, the compressed gas will escape and the end cap can be propelled into the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury or a crash.
Corrective action:: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the RRAB modules on the left and/or right side, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters were mailed on December 22, 2020. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. Note: GM filed a new recall, number 21V-504 that supersedes this recall. All vehicles previously recalled under 20V-736 will now be repaired under the new recall number 21V-504. GM's numbers for this recall are N202309680, N202309681, and N202309682.

2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500 Complaints
LT265/60R20 121S E Yokohama Geolander AT4, manufacturer date of 2924. While driving south on Interstate 95, the driver’s side rear tire sidewall blew out, inside sidewall. The tires have approximately 14000 miles on them. There were no sidewall defects noticed approximately 4000 miles prior during a tire rotation. Nothing was hit in the roadway and proper pressure is maintained in all tires. There was no indication, tpms warning, that the tire was losing pressure prior to the blow out. There does not appear to be any damage to the tread area of the tire. Control of the vehicle was maintained to a stop in the breakdown lane. There were no injuries.;
2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 3500 Complaints
I own a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD Duramax diesel. At approximately 130,000 miles, the high-pressure CP4 fuel pump failed internally, sending metal shavings throughout the fuel system and contaminating major components. The truck suddenly lost power on the freeway and became inoperable without warning. I was barely able to get out of traffic before it had to be towed to a Chevrolet dealership. This created a serious safety hazard, especially considering the risk if it had happened while towing my fifth wheel with my family. A failure like this should not happen at this mileage on a heavy-duty diesel truck. I also cannot afford the extremely high cost of repairing the entire fuel system. From my research, many other owners have experienced the same CP4 fuel pump failure, which often destroys the entire fuel system and leads to very expensive repairs. I believe this is a widespread defect, not normal wear and tear. I ask NHTSA to review these failures and take action to protect vehicle owners from similar dangerous and costly failures. This truck currently sits at the dealership as I cannot afford the repairs and GM will not fix what they know is faulty parts.;
2015 GMC SIERRA 2500 Complaints
After starting the vehicle, I turned on the rear defrost button and within a few minutes the rear window started producing smoke inside the vehicle. I turned the truck off immediately and then approximately 30 seconds later, the rear window on the passenger side shattered. There is a recall that was issued for this exact problem but when i contacted the dealership, I was informed that the recall applied to Canadian vehicle models only and that there was no recall issued in the U.S. for this problem. I believe that there was a great risk for my family's safety as my child sits directly in front of this window and presented an injury risk to her, as well as the overall fire risk that could have occurred if I had not noticed the issue immediately. There were no warnings before the incident occurred. I had to pay out of pocket to have the window replaced.;
2015 GMC SIERRA 3500 Complaints
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 3500. The contact stated that the brake pedal and accelerator pedal lifted while depressed, causing the engine to rev. There were no warning lights illuminated. The dealer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.;
2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 Complaints
I had noticed that my a/c was not cooling due to refrigerant loss. went to dealer and was told that I needed a new condenser and that my original was out of warranty & no recall was in effect. I was charged $1600.00 after the replacement was installed. I asked to see my original condenser & was directed behind the shop & low & behold there was a pile of 30 condensers exactly identical to mine;
