Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2020-2021 Edge

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Edge, 2020 Lincoln Nautilus and Ford Escape and 2021 Lincoln Corsair and Ford Bronco Sport vehicles. An inadequate amount of lubricant in the rear drive unit may cause seizure of the rear drive axle.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 147 units affected.

Description:: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Edge, 2020 Lincoln Nautilus and Ford Escape and 2021 Lincoln Corsair and Ford Bronco Sport vehicles. An inadequate amount of lubricant in the rear drive unit may cause seizure of the rear drive axle.
Consequeces:: If the rear drive unit seizes, there may be a loss of drive and/or a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will check the rear drive unit lubricant level. Axles found to have lubricant at the minimum level will be filled to the full level. Axles found to be below the minimum lubricant fill level will be replaced, free of charge. This recall began March 12, 2021. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. 2020 FORD ESCAPE Complaints
White foggy smoke from exhaust. Backing sensor or driving sensor are off when sensing environment. Car suspension not fully stable sorta drift to left or right.;
2020 LINCOLN NAUTILUS Complaints
Hennessey Lincoln in Atlanta repaired my car in June 2026. My Torque converter needed to be replaced. My car was there over 20 days. Two weeks after getting it back from shop it started jerking and smoking. It needed another torque converter replacement. Two weeks after getting this car back it did the same thing again. I contacted Ford Warranty they did not help. Lincoln iin Michigan did not attempt to help. I couldn't even get the car in the shop for repair because of lack of employees that work on transmissions and no loaner cars.;
2021 FORD BRONCO SPORT Complaints
Car is failing to pick up speed and shuttering around 20mph to 60mph. Took it to the dealer and they said it’s the transmission. Im currently in talks with dealership about a goodwill repair. I’m at approx 65000 miles and warranty ended at 60000. I previously contacted Ford dealership to complain about the issue before the warranty was up. I was told I would have to pay $149 for a diagnostic on the vehicle so I took it to my repairman and no codes came up. He changed the spark plugs and still it shuttered. So I took it to the dealership and that’s when they told me they think it’s the transmission. There are serveral complaints about this and communications from the manufacturer especially about the shutter and no codes I complained about this when I first bought the car and was told nothing was found. I take care of my vehicle. It’s inspected every year and oil changes and maintenance are done on schedule. I don’t take it to the Ford garage because it is very expensive and a I have a mechanic that I trust. A car with this many miles that is maintained should not need a new transmission and I feel that I my goodwill was paying good money for a car that is not safe to drive. They told me I would have to pay for repairs until I mentioned a goodwill offer. I could see it the car had been driven off road or had a ton of miles but neither of those is true. They gave the car back to me until I hear back from the dealership. They never told me not to drive it. It’s been a week since they diagnosed it. After researching there are several complaints and communications from the manufacturer about this. I can only pray that they will handle this appropriately.;
2021 FORD EDGE Complaints
The transmission failed causing the car to sputter and stop. My daughter was driving the car at the time and it died while she was waiting for a light to turn green at a major intersection. She had to wait for my husband to come assist her. We had it towed to McCree Ford in Dickinson, TX. They indicated it was the transmission and it would need to be replaced. No indication of any issues prior to this incident. The car was well maintained up until this incident and we were just short of 100,000 miles. Mostly highway miles.;
2021 LINCOLN CORSAIR Complaints
While driving on the highway my vehicle experienced a sudden severe loss of power that led you a metallic rattling noise under the front of the vehicle and smoke coming out the exhaust pipes. Took it to a Ford dealership for diagnosis and repair however, it recommendations were long engine block replacement due to coolant intrusion from a cylinder wall cracking due to a manufacturer defect that is a widely known and has a large class action lawsuit. Well, I’m being told I have to pay $11,000 out-of-pocket because my vin is not included in the active recalls of the vehicles of the same making and model as mine. The issues with my vehicle is not caused from wear and tear is a manufacturer defect and should be included to be repaired being that this vehicle is less than five years old under 100,000 miles and I’ve only had the vehicle since November 2024.;
