Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2021 Range Rover, 2022 Range Rover Sport, 2020-2021 Range Rover Velar, Discovery Sport, 2020-2022 Discovery, and Defender vehicles. The seat belt automatic locking retractors may deactivate early, which can prevent the child restraint system from securing properly.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 32,687 units affected.

Description:: Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2021 Range Rover, 2022 Range Rover Sport, 2020-2021 Range Rover Velar, Discovery Sport, 2020-2022 Discovery, and Defender vehicles. The seat belt automatic locking retractors may deactivate early, which can prevent the child restraint system from securing properly.
Consequeces:: An unsecured child restraint system can increase the risk of injury during a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will inspect and replace the seat belt assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed October 20, 2021. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N630.

2021 LAND ROVER DEFENDER Complaints
Driver Side Daytime running lamp illumination failed at 45 thousand miles. There is no internal notification of the failure and it failed prematurely. Its outside of the JLR warranty and they are not supporting any repair nor is the dealer who wants to replace both lamps at the cost of $6,000.;
2021 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY Complaints
The contact owns a 2021 Land Rover Discovery. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights were illuminated, and the vehicle stalled in the middle of the roadway. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V248000 (Electrical System). The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The dealer retrieved several fault codes associated with the power supply failure and DC Converter failure. The vehicle was not repaired because there was no repair available for the DC-DC converter failure. The contact stated that the dealer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 108,029.;
2021 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY SPORT Complaints
My Land Rover Discovery Sport has experienced six separate stalling / loss-of-propulsion events, all of which created dangerous highway situations. On multiple occasions, the vehicle either entered limp mode or stalled completely while traveling at approximately 65 mph, endangering all lanes of traffic and forcing unsafe maneuvers to reach the shoulder. These incidents occurred without warning at random times and completely disappearing after a restart. Two of these stalling events occurred after the vehicle was inspected and “diagnosed” by an authorized Land Rover dealer for 400$ and returned to me as having no issues. Both of those post-diagnosis failures required towing back to the dealer at my own cost. One of the six incidents required a 911 call due to the vehicle stalling in active freeway traffic and creating an immediate safety hazard. The issue is intermittent and often clears temporarily after the vehicle is shut off, making it difficult for dealers to reproduce. However, the defect consistently reappears shortly after driving. The vehicle has now been in the possession of an authorized Land Rover dealer for approximately 3.5 months, and no repair or root cause has been identified. The vehicle remains undrivable and unsafe to operate. I am concerned this represents a systemic defect, potentially software-related, that causes sudden loss of propulsion and stalling at highway speeds without warning.;
2021 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER VELAR Complaints
This complaint is filed regarding an inoperable vehicle subject to active safety recall NHTSA 26V-248 / JLR Campaign D126. My 2021 Range Rover Velar MHEV experienced a total charging failure and loss of motive power caused by an internal failure of the 48V-to-12V DC-DC converter (boost control microchip defect). A professional diagnostic confirmed the 12V battery is viable, but the DC-DC converter has zero output and is throwing charging communication faults. The vehicle is completely disabled and unsafe to drive. Jaguar Land Rover North America and its authorized dealerships refuse to service, replace the failed component, or ground the vehicle under the recall campaign without requiring multi-thousand-dollar out-of-pocket payment from me, citing 'remedy not yet available.' JLR has also refused alternative mobility/loaner support for a vehicle grounded directly by this federally acknowledged safety hazard.;
