Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021 GLE 350, GLE 580, GLS 450, GLS 580, AMG GLE 53, AMG GLE 63 S, and AMG GLS 63 S vehicles. The rear window may be insufficiently bonded to the tailgate, which could allow the rear glass to detach.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 23 units affected.

Description:: Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021 GLE 350, GLE 580, GLS 450, GLS 580, AMG GLE 53, AMG GLE 63 S, and AMG GLS 63 S vehicles. The rear window may be insufficiently bonded to the tailgate, which could allow the rear glass to detach.
Consequeces:: Detached rear glass can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the rear window, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 8, 2021. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.

2021 GLE350 - 4JGFB4KB7MA355768 purchased December 30, 2024 with 35,000. miles. Current milage 61,933. There is a critical electrical/software defect in the MBUX system which has completely blacked out. This VIN# has not been placed on recall but it is suffering the same failure as previous models (Including NHTSA campaign #21V354 and #26V281000 and I believe it warrants further investigation. The display failure creates significant safety hazards. Loff of Rear View Camera. Loss of Driver Instruments Warning. Essential driver information, including speed, safety warnings and system alerts while the vehicle is in motion, which creates a safety hazard. I have reached out to Mercedez corporate office, dealership, the issue remains unresolved. I request that NHTSA log this safety complaint and evaluate whether further enforcement or expended recall action is required to ensure Mercedes remedies this defect at no cost to vehicle owners.;
2021 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE 580 Complaints
My Mercedes GLE 580 experienced a complete failure of the 48V battery system due to the exact defect outlined in NHTSA Recall Campaign 24V207 (defective 48V ground connection causing high resistance and fire risk). The official status for my VIN shows 'Recall Incomplete.' The vehicle is currently at Mercedes-Benz of Barrington. The dealership is actively refusing to remedy this safety recall under warranty and is attempting to charge me $5,313 out of pocket for the battery replacement. Furthermore, the dealership refuses to submit the correct diagnostic error code (B183371) to my extended warranty provider to block coverage. My family has been left completely stranded without transportation for 7 days, and the manufacturer refuses to provide a loaner vehicle while the vehicle is unsafe to drive due to this fire hazard recall.;
