Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Model Y, Model X, Model S, and 2017-2022 Model 3 vehicles. The Boombox function allows sounds to be played through an external speaker while the vehicle is in motion, which may obscure the Pedestrian Warning System (PWS) sounds. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 141, "Minimum Sound Requirements for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles."

The recall was influenced by the Office of Vehicle Safety Compliance with about 594,894 units affected.

Description:: Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Model Y, Model X, Model S, and 2017-2022 Model 3 vehicles. The Boombox function allows sounds to be played through an external speaker while the vehicle is in motion, which may obscure the Pedestrian Warning System (PWS) sounds. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 141, "Minimum Sound Requirements for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles."
Consequeces:: Pedestrians may be unaware of an approaching vehicle if the PWS sounds are obscured, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Tesla will perform an over-the-air (OTA) software update that will disable the Boombox functionality when the vehicle is in Drive, Neutral and Reverse modes, including Summon and Smart Summon, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 6, 2022. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-22-00-003. Note: This recall supersedes recall 22V-063. Vehicles configured with Summon or Smart Summon and already remedied under 22V-063 will need to have the new remedy software installed.

2022 TESLA MODEL 3 Complaints
At approximately 32,916 miles, the powered trunk lift strut on my 2022 Tesla Model 3 separated from its mounting ball stud during normal use. There was no collision or external impact. When the strut separated, it struck the rear glass and caused the glass to break. Tesla inspected and repaired the vehicle. Tesla’s final service invoice states: “Strut failure was responsible for breaking back glass.” I am concerned that failure of the powered trunk strut attachment on a relatively low-mileage vehicle can cause broken glass and may create a safety risk.;
2022 TESLA MODEL S Complaints
Back tires are popping in the inner wall I’m on my 6th tires for the years same thing keeps happening. Steering wheel is falling apart Tesla is refusing to fix it.;
2022 TESLA MODEL X Complaints
I own a 2022 Tesla Model X. I began noticing a creaking/clicking noise from the front steering/suspension area, particularly when turning the steering wheel at larger angles and at low speeds. I brought the vehicle to a Tesla Service Center for inspection. Tesla inspected the vehicle and diagnosed a bent steering rack/steering component. Tesla recommended replacement of the complete steering gear assembly, along with repairs to front suspension components. Tesla provided photographs of the condition and stated in writing that bending this component would require approximately 4,000 to 6,000 pounds of force at a specific angle. Tesla attributed the condition to an external impact. However, I am not aware of any accident, collision, curb strike, significant pothole impact, road-debris strike, or other event that would explain this condition. There were no crash-related warning messages or known impact events preceding the steering symptoms. The first symptom I noticed was the creaking/clicking noise during low-speed steering. I am concerned because the steering system is safety-critical and I do not know when, how, or why the steering component became bent. A damaged or bent steering component could potentially affect steering control, alignment, or vehicle handling if the condition progresses. Tesla has physically inspected the vehicle and confirmed the condition. The recommended steering and suspension repairs have not yet been performed, so the vehicle and the affected components remain available for inspection if requested. I am reporting this because I believe the unexplained deformation/failure of a steering component on a 2022 Model X may represent a potential safety issue, particularly because I am not aware of an external-impact event that would account for the condition.;
2022 TESLA MODEL Y Complaints
At only 27k miles in with no accident history and perfect maintenance my camera system began to fail. It started with a delay of the backup camera and then turned into the cameras no longer working and no longer talking to the satellites. This then became a gps issue. Tesla despite me being 1 month outside warranty and well below the mileage charged me for a $4k new computer without diagnosing the failure as to whether it was heat related or what. It said the FSD computer was failing to make connection with the other computer. I had never even used FSD. This Premature failure of the computer system should’ve never been charged to me.;
