Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 vehicles equipped with 6.7L diesel engines. A washer within the vehicle's transmission can disintegrate, causing metallic debris to become lodged in the 'Park' mechanism.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 23,165 units affected.

Description:: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 vehicles equipped with 6.7L diesel engines. A washer within the vehicle's transmission can disintegrate, causing metallic debris to become lodged in the 'Park' mechanism.
Consequeces:: Debris lodged within the 'Park' mechanism may prevent the vehicle from achieving or holding 'Park,' increasing the risk of a vehicle rollaway and a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace a gearset within the transmission, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 19, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S22.

2020 FORD F-250 SD Complaints
The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250 SD. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a no-start condition and was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the high-pressure fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. However, the contact was informed that the repair was not covered under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V957000 (Fuel System, Diesel); because there were not enough metal shavings found in the fuel system. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact used a vehicle scanner to retrieve DTC: P2291. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure and was referred to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 134,000.;
2020 FORD F-350 SD Complaints
The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-350 SD. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle with the ignition key, the vehicle failed to start as intended. The check engine warning light was illuminated. In addition, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign: 24V957000 (Fuel System, Diesel); and the VIN was included. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with the fuel pump failure. The vehicle was not repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V957000(Fuel System, Diesel); because there was no metallic debris found in the fuel system. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and the recall repair was denied. The failure mileage was approximately 230,000.;
2020 FORD F-550 SD Complaints
Attempting registration renewal on 01/30/2025, and DMV has rejected, but cashed our check for registration renewal. Upon research of FORD Recall Available to Remedy, the SOFTWARE is NOT Available to Remedy since January 1st, 2025. How do we handle not being able to remedy FORD MANUFACTURER RECALL #22E04 ? Please ADVISE at your earliest opportunity? How to complete DMV registration when serious remedy is NOT available and registration has been expired since 03/31/25. We have sent CARB registration, copies of all RECALL Notices received not able to remedy and DMV continues no reject renewal until Recall can be completed.;
