Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain 2022 Prime Time Avenger

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2022 Prime Time Avenger, Crusader, Lacrosse, Ozark, Tracer, Sanibel, East to West Della Terra, Silverlake, Forest River Cherokee, Flagstaff, IBEX, RPod, Rockwood, Salem, Sierra, Sandpiper, and Wildwood fifth wheel and travel trailers. The electric retractable awning has a welded seam on the fabric that may separate, potentially allowing the awning to drop beyond normal operation.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 19,911 units affected.

Description:: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2022 Prime Time Avenger, Crusader, Lacrosse, Ozark, Tracer, Sanibel, East to West Della Terra, Silverlake, Forest River Cherokee, Flagstaff, IBEX, RPod, Rockwood, Salem, Sierra, Sandpiper, and Wildwood fifth wheel and travel trailers. The electric retractable awning has a welded seam on the fabric that may separate, potentially allowing the awning to drop beyond normal operation.
Consequeces:: An awning that drops or extends beyond normal operation can increase the risk of injury.
Corrective action:: Forest River will replace the awnings, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 17, 2022. 2022 EAST TO WEST DELLA TERRA Complaints
There is a CURRENT recall campaign for this issue. I believe it should be expanded. There has been no issue YET, but there WILL be if not repaired. Pictures will show bad/failed/failing welds where the safety chains are secured to my hitch coupler on my travel trailer. Manufacturer told me based on my VIN and date of manufacture, my unit was not included. This unit was purchased about one month ago +/- a few days.;
2022 FOREST RIVER CHEROKEE Complaints
The contact owned a 2022 Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pack RV. The contact stated that the battery of the RV was frequently drained by the refrigerator. The contact stated the generator of the RV was turned on, and while the Xbox of the contact's son, the refrigerator and other devices were plugged in, the contact noticed an abnormal burning odor. The contact exited the RV and noticed that the pizza box in front of the generator had caught on fire. The contact ran to the cargo residence that was 20 ft. away and informed her children that a fire had started. The contact stated that upon returning with a fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire, the contact noticed that the fire had extended to the fiberglass in front of the RV, and the front of the RV had caught on fire. The contact advised her children to run because the fire had extended to the propane tank, and the RV was about to explode. The contact and her children ran as far away as they could, and the contact heard explosions coming from the RV. The contact stated that the entire RV caught on fire. The fire extended and burned the contact's cargo residence that was located 20 ft. away. The fire burned and killed the contact's cats. The contact's convertible vehicle, boat, two four-wheeler UTVs, the truck of contact's son's truck, and a golf cart either melted or sustained heat damage due to the fire. The contact stated that storages located 40 ft. away from the RV and containing furniture, appliances, and clothes were damaged. The fire was extinguished by the fire department, and a fire department report was filed. It was unknown whether a police report was filed. There was no physical injury sustained, but the contact and her children sustained mental and emotional trauma. The RV was a total loss and remained at the scene. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 700.;
2022 FOREST RIVER FLAGSTAFF Complaints
The unit is equipped with a Murphy Bed. On two occasions the muphy bed mattress slid from its position into the well of the trailer. On the 2nd occasion the supports failed during transit and could not be retrieved without a complete disassembly of the unit. During the process it was revealed that if the supports of the bed had failed while a small person, child or animal were on it, they would be both injured and trapped. The only access panel to the space where the mattress fell into is from an outside bay. If an individual were trapped underneath the mattress, there would not be a safe path to exit on their own. This is taking into account the said access panel is behind a storage bay that would normally be filled and locked from the outside.;
