Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC is recalling certain 2021-2022 GLE350

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2022 GLE350, GLE450, 2022 AMG GLE53, AMG GLE63, and GLS450 vehicles. The steering coupling locking screw may loosen and possibly detach from the steering gear, resulting in a loss of steering control.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 69 units affected.

Description:: Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2022 GLE350, GLE450, 2022 AMG GLE53, AMG GLE63, and GLS450 vehicles. The steering coupling locking screw may loosen and possibly detach from the steering gear, resulting in a loss of steering control.
Consequeces:: A loss of steering control can increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the steering coupling locking screw, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 27, 2023. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2022120016.

2022 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG GLE53 Complaints
The panoramic sunroof exploded upwards and outwards while driving under normal conditions. It created an extremely loud and startling sound that left the driver and passenger stunned. We were fortunate there was not an immediate oncoming vehicle as we likely would have struck head on. Shortly after the explosion, tiny shards of glass began to fall into the passenger area. We were also fortunate to be able to get the vehicle safely off the road. The vehicle was brought to the dealership and the manufacturer was called. They are all pretending they have never heard of something like that happening when a quick search reveals this is a known manufacturing defect with a class action lawsuit filed. The named plaintiff is actually a customer from the very dealership we brought the vehicle to for service. There is no chance they are not aware of the problem.;

I was told by the investigators that the fire was caused by an electrical component under the passenger seat that Mercedes is well aware of. My life was placed in danger because of the Inhalation of forever chemicals and lung damaging smoke and super heated air. Problem confirmed by dozens of owners who experienced and documented the very some accounts, some who have reported contacting the NHTSA years prior to my experience but nothing was done to save lives or prevent losses. The American Freedom insurance investigator told me in writing what caused the fire. Nothing gave any indication that my life was in danger not a light, an alarm nor the monthly Connect service I paid for every month. Nothing gave me an indication that something like this was going to happen.;
2022 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE 450 4MATIC Complaints
The left side of the digital instrument cluster in my 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 intermittently goes completely blank while driving. When this occurs, I cannot see critical vehicle information, including my speed, fuel level, warning indicators, and other important vehicle functions. The failure happens randomly and without warning. Approximately two months ago, I took the vehicle to an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership for this issue. The dealer stated that the problem was corrected with a software update; however, the instrument-cluster failure has now returned. This creates a serious safety concern because I may be unable to monitor my speed, determine how much fuel remains, or see urgent warnings and system alerts while operating the vehicle. I am concerned that this recurring malfunction could contribute to a crash or leave the vehicle occupants stranded. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether this is a widespread safety defect affecting the instrument clusters in these vehicles.;
