Honda (America Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023 Civic, Acura RDX, Acura Integra, and 2022 Honda Accord vehicles. A ball valve in the vehicle stability assist (VSA) modulator may leak brake fluid, which can result in unintended vehicle movement when the brake hold feature is engaged or an unexpected increase in brake pedal travel.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 386 units affected.

Description:: Honda (America Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023 Civic, Acura RDX, Acura Integra, and 2022 Honda Accord vehicles. A ball valve in the vehicle stability assist (VSA) modulator may leak brake fluid, which can result in unintended vehicle movement when the brake hold feature is engaged or an unexpected increase in brake pedal travel.
Consequeces:: Unintended vehicle movement or an unexpected increase in brake pedal travel can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the VSA modulator, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 24, 2023. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are OEJ, XEK, AEY, XEX and OEW.

I am writing to formally report a serious, recurring safety hazard involving the infotainment unit in my Honda Accord Sport. While driving, the infotainment screen unexpectedly resets, shuts down, switches audio channels/radio stations, and drops live navigation/maps. These spontaneous failures cause sudden, unpredictable driver distraction and eliminate essential turn-by-turn navigation during active trips. Because this defect compromises my ability to keep my full attention on the road, it poses a direct safety hazard. I have recorded video evidence documenting these sudden reboots and malfunctions while the vehicle is in operation. Video like is below. VEHICLE & TRANSACTION DETAILS Vehicle: 2023 Acura Integra | VIN: [XXX] Purchaser: [XXX] | Authorized Rep: [XXX] Selling Dealer: Carvana, LLC | Delivery Date: XXX STATEMENT OF SAFETY HAZARD & DEFECT I am filing a formal vehicle safety complaint against Carvana, LLC for delivering a passenger vehicle in an unroadworthy, dangerous condition. On XXX, Carvana delivered the 2023 Acura Integra (VIN: [XXX]). Immediate post-delivery inspection by an authorized repair facility confirmed the vehicle was delivered with four severely worn, defective tires measuring below legal safety thresholds, along with a severe alignment defect. IMPACT ON VEHICLE CONTROL & PUBLIC SAFETY Delivering a vehicle with dangerously worn tires and severe alignment issues directly compromises basic vehicle safety and highway operation: Hydroplaning & Braking Failure: Tires worn past safe limits lack water evacuation channels, causing loss of control and extended stopping distances in wet conditions. Tire Failure Risk: Operating tires past wear indicators dramatically increases the risk of high-speed tread separation or sudden blowout. Handling Degradation: The severe alignment defect impairs emergency evasive steering and causes unpredictable vehicle pulling. DEALER CERTIFICATION FAILURE Carvana explicitly represented this vehicle as having passed a mandatory "150-Point Inspection" and certified it as roadworthy. Delivering a vehicle with four non-compliant tires demonstrates a major breakdown in basic safety quality control. I request that NHTSA log this complaint, assign an official tracking number, and investigate commercial dealer compliance regarding tire safety standards prior to vehicle delivery. 2023 ACURA RDX Complaints
The contact owns a 2023 Acura RDX. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked and retrieving an item from the front driver’s side door; after closing the door, the rear glass exploded without impact. The dealer was notified of the failure, and an appointment was scheduled. Upon investigation, the contact discovered an undisclosed Technical Service Bulletin that was associated with the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that the model of vehicle was not included in a TSB for the failure. A case was filed with the manufacturer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 30,100.;
2023 HONDA CIVIC TYPE R Complaints
During a controlled low-speed autocross event (~55 mph entry), I applied the brake pedal firmly to decelerate for an upcoming turn. The vehicle failed to decelerate at anywhere near its rated capability. Despite full, sustained pedal application, the car would not slow adequately, departed the course, and struck a barrier, resulting in a total loss. No injuries occurred. This happened on smooth, dry pavement where 100+ other vehicles braked normally. The failed system appears to be the electronic brake control (ABS/VSA) and/or its input signaling. Event Data Recorder (EDR) data was professionally extracted and shows: accelerator at 0% for ~3.5 seconds before impact (ruling out pedal misapplication); ABS logged ACTIVE while stability control was "not engaged"; and peak deceleration of only ~0.67 g with a momentary 0.00 g dropout, versus this model's documented ~0.9–1.0 g capability. Notably, the service-brake switch intermittently read OFF while ABS was simultaneously active — a signal inconsistency, since ABS modulates driver-applied pressure. This indicates a possible brake-switch/signal-integrity or ABS/VSA control anomaly that reduced or withheld commanded braking. Safety risk: complete loss of expected stopping power at speed. Had this occurred on a public road with a pedestrian, crossing traffic, or a stopped vehicle ahead, it could have caused serious injury or death. The vehicle was under the 3-year/36,000-mile warranty with a stock, unmodified brake system. Prior symptom: on the immediately preceding run, dashcam footage shows an abnormal brake hop/oscillation, which may have been an early sign of the same fault. The vehicle, EDR data, and synchronized dashcam footage are preserved and available for inspection. The manufacturer extracted the EDR but has not yet performed a root-cause teardown. No dealer, police, or insurance inspection has occurred. Root cause: UNKNOWN pending modulator interrogation.;
