Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling certain 2023 Tundra

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2023 Tundra, Tundra Hybrid, and Sequoia Hybrid vehicles. The steel chain used to secure the spare tire to the underside of the vehicle may have been insufficiently welded.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 1,398 units affected.

Description:: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2023 Tundra, Tundra Hybrid, and Sequoia Hybrid vehicles. The steel chain used to secure the spare tire to the underside of the vehicle may have been insufficiently welded.
Consequeces:: Chains that are not welded sufficiently can break and allow the spare tire to detach, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the spare tire carrier assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 14, 2023. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is 23TB06/23TA06.

2023 TOYOTA SEQUOIA HYBRID Complaints
The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Sequoia Hybrid. The contact stated that the key fob failed to unlock and lock the front driver’s side door. Due to the failure, the contact was forced to manually lock the front driver’s side door upon exiting and crawl through the front passenger’s side door to unlock the front driver's side door. The dealer was made aware of the failure, and an appointment was scheduled to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.;
2023 TOYOTA TUNDRA Complaints
I was leaving work one day and pulled out in traffic and my engine stalled causing the car behind me to slam on their brakes to avoid crashing into me from the back my engine completely stalled and I got no gas to accelerate I then went to the dealership and stated what happened and they told me they could not help me at the moment so I wrote a letter to corporate Toyota and they put me in the loaner in the following week. I’ve been in the loaner for the past four months with no remedy on my truck and no answer to when it’s gonna be fixed or this problem is gonna be resolved.;

The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Tundra Hybrid. The contact removed the tonneau cover. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V142000 (Structure) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The contact was offered a refund, but then the offer was rescinded. Parts distribution disconnect.;
