Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2022 Imagine, Reflection, Momentum, Solitude, and Transcend travel trailers. The quick disconnect fittings in the LP gas system may be cracked, causing a gas leak.

The recall was influenced by the Office of Defects Investigation with about 30,435 units affected.

Description:: Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2022 Imagine, Reflection, Momentum, Solitude, and Transcend travel trailers. The quick disconnect fittings in the LP gas system may be cracked, causing a gas leak.
Consequeces:: A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
Corrective action:: Dealers will inspect and replace quick disconnect as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 6, 2024. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910045. This recall supersedes Grand Design RV recall 22V308.

Timeline of Structural Failures June 11, 2026 — During tire replacement (approx. 6,000 towing miles), a crack at the driver-side front spring hanger was discovered and photographed. June 15, 2026 — A bent A-frame brace behind the battery tray was observed during travel, indicating front-frame deformation. July 2, 2026 — Coroplast underbelly separation occurred; many fasteners were loose or missing. Temporary duct-tape repairs were made while traveling. July 4, 2026 — Two of four battery-tray welds failed. Battery assembly was held only by one weld, the propane line, and anti-theft straps. Two batteries remained mounted. Photos documented the failure. I am submitting this complaint regarding a 2022 Grand Design Momentum 381, that is exhibiting numerous symptoms commonly associated with excessive frame flex, structural deformation, and potential frame failure. The symptoms observed include concerns affecting multiple structural systems of the RV, including the front pin box area, walls, slide-outs, floor structure, suspension attachment points, towing stability, and general structural integrity. These symptoms are not isolated cosmetic issues but instead appear to represent a pattern of progressive structural distress. 2022 GRAND DESIGN REFLECTION Complaints
1. Wall and floor separated in driver's side slide. Repaired by Dealership (Alpin Haus) 2. Back wall movement - structural: Affected back wall, sides, roof. Repaired by Grand Design in Indiana. Roof was reinforced and replaced. Back walls/side walls reinforced by Grand Design. 3. Both axels bent. Dealership (Alpin Haus) submitted claim to insurance to replace axles, leaf springs and tires.;
2022 GRAND DESIGN SOLITUDE Complaints
On January 18, 2026, while towing my 2022 Grand Design Solitude 310GK near Bouse, Arizona, I discovered a serious problem and pulled off the road. The rear axle had become detached/displaced. At the time, I did not know exactly what had occurred or what caused the axle event. The RV was subsequently delivered to a repair facility on March 27, 2026. During the repair process, significant structural/frame damage was progressively discovered, including cracking in the spring-hanger/frame area. The repair facility documented that the damage was more extensive than initially believed and performed structural repairs that included additional steel and plating. My insurance company approved $23,615.83 in total repair costs, with a net repair cost of $23,365.83 after the $250 deductible; not all of that amount was frame-related. During this process, Grand Design referred me to Lippert regarding frame repair information. I subsequently received a Lippert frame repair procedure addressing inspection and repair of frame cracking. Grand Design has advised that my RV is not within the date range of the related program. I have asked Grand Design and Lippert to review the documented structural repairs and determine whether they are consistent with Lippert's frame repair procedure and whether the RV is structurally safe for highway use. I have specifically stated that I am not asking them to determine the cause of the January incident or certify the repair facility's workmanship. I am seeking a competent engineering determination concerning the structural/frame condition and repairs. I am reporting this to NHTSA because failure or cracking of the frame/suspension attachment structure on a large towable RV could create a serious highway safety risk. The cause of the January axle event and when the frame cracking developed are UNKNOWN. The cracking was discovered progressively during subsequent repairs.;
2022 GRAND DESIGN TRANSCEND Complaints
1. Complete Trailer brake system failure due to incorrect wire gauge used during assembly at Grand Design. 2. Frame failure at axle shackle weld on Lippert frame due to over-penetration. While towing the trailer there was a message on the tow vehicle information center "trailer Brakes disconnected". All trailer breaking was lost while going down the Siskiyous. At that time the trailer began to sway and was difficult to maintain control due to the loss of trailer brakes. During assembly Grand Design used 18-gauge wire to connect the 14-gauge wire from the brake magnets and axle tube to the wire running through the trailer underbelly up to the Vehicle plug. Lippert brake installation manuals for 4 brake systems state to use at least 14-gauge wiring. These manuals are readily available on the Lippert website. The photos we have provided clearly show 18 gauge was used and its insulation had melted exposing the center conductor. Repair documentation from the dealership to fix the brakes indicated that the right rear magnet was intermittently bad drawing high current which would draw all the braking system current to that one assembly. This maximum current to one set of wiring caused the smaller 18-gauge wire to melt off its insulation which resulted in a hard short that prevented all braking at a very inopportune time. Had 14 gauge been used we would not have lost all braking to the trailer. During the brake wire repair at the dealership the frame around the RR axle shackle failed when the trailer was jacked up. It appears that the shackle attachment weld over-penetrated the frame ultimately causing a weak joint and lead to the frame failure. The frame failing around the shackle weld happening at the dealership instead of on the road is beyond lucky and avoided another very unsafe incident on the road. These two items happening at the same time almost resulted in a multi vehicle crash on I-5 southbound.;
