Volvo Car USA, LLC (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2020-2021 S90, 2020-2022 S60, V60, XC60, XC90, and 2022 V90 plug-in hybrid vehicles. The high-voltage battery may experience a short circuit within the battery module when the battery is fully charged and the vehicle is parked.

The recall was influenced by the Office of Defects Investigation with about 7,483 units affected.

Description:: Volvo Car USA, LLC (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2020-2021 S90, 2020-2022 S60, V60, XC60, XC90, and 2022 V90 plug-in hybrid vehicles. The high-voltage battery may experience a short circuit within the battery module when the battery is fully charged and the vehicle is parked.
Consequeces:: A short circuit in a high-voltage battery increases the risk of a fire.
Corrective action:: Owners are advised not to charge their vehicles until the remedy has been completed. Dealers will inspect and replace the high-voltage battery module as necessary. In addition, dealers will update the software to monitor the battery. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 28, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Car's customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo Car's number for this recall is R10312.

2022 VOLVO S60 Complaints
When parked, the driver side mirror of various SPA Volvos seem to automatically adjust the driver side mirror in random directions after the driver exits the car. Then, on returning to the car, the mirror is not re-adjusted. Thus, if the driver fails to check the position of the mirror before driving off, they may find themselves in a situation where the mirror is unexpectedly out of alignment and they are unable to view behind them and to the left. They then have to re-adjust the mirror to its proper position while driving, which is unsafe. This is a known problem that has been reproduced by countless dealerships. The common fix is to replace the driver door module, however I believe there should be a recall for this as it poses a safety concern and some drivers may not have the means to pay for the replacement.;
2022 VOLVO V60CC Complaints
I have an ongoing but intermittent problem with door and hatch releases on my 2022 Volvo wagon. The car has been looked at several times and the dealer can't find the problem. My hatch popped open while driving on RT 395 at 55. My doors either won't open from the outside or alternatively from the inside using the remote. Both remote keys have been tested with the same results. Driver's door and front passenger door are the most frequent problems. As soon as I click on upload my documents the link disappears. I have video of attempts to open the doors both from the inside and the outside. I am most concerned about being stuck inside the car in an emergency but outside in the city at night is also a concern. I was working in a high crime area in Baltimore.;
2022 VOLVO V90CC Complaints
Volvo had an over the air update for all cars with the Google UI. Recently my speakers and other electrical components have been having issues. I took the car to the dealership for evaluation since it's under warranty. The dealer said the issue is a known software issue that started a couple months ago. The only software change my vehicle has had has been the OTA update. Now Volvo is charging to fix the issue even though they introduced it in their own update.;
2022 VOLVO XC60 Complaints
On [XXX], at 82,371 miles, my daughter's 2022 Volvo XC60 T8 Recharge was diagnosed with DTC BECM-P0BBD92 (Hybrid/High Voltage Battery Pack Voltage Variation) and a confirmed Cell Module F failure (Repair Order #[XXX], Bob Penkhus Motor Co Volvo Cars, Colorado Springs, CO). The dealer instructed her not to charge the vehicle pending repair. The replacement part (Cell Module F, Part #36003341) has been on indefinite backorder since diagnosis — initially quoted at 6 weeks, still unavailable as of this report. This vehicle falls within NHTSA Recall 25V-179 (LG high-voltage battery modules, fire risk when fully charged and parked). NHTSA's VIN lookup shows this VIN as having no unrepaired recalls, which I believe reflects only a prior software-monitoring update rather than a physical hardware fix — this diagnosed cell failure occurred after that update, is consistent with the exact failure mode described in the recall, and cannot currently be repaired because the remedy part is unavailable. Volvo Cars USA opened and then closed a corporate case (#[XXX], closed June 19, 2026) declining further assistance, stating its only obligation is to repair the vehicle — which it cannot presently do. It has been 138 days with no resolution on this matter. My name is [XXX] (father) and I can provide notarized authorization to act on my daughter's behalf on this matter.
