Honda is recalling certain 2024 XL750

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2024 XL750, 2025 CMX1100, and CRF1100 motorcycles. The crankcase sealing bolt may have been improperly manufactured, which can cause the engine to leak oil onto the rear tire.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 1,016 units affected.

Description:: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2024 XL750, 2025 CMX1100, and CRF1100 motorcycles. The crankcase sealing bolt may have been improperly manufactured, which can cause the engine to leak oil onto the rear tire.
Consequeces:: Oil on the rear tire may cause a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the crankcase sealing bolt, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 15, 2025. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is KS2.

2024 HONDA XL750 Complaints
The engine shut off while bike was in motion, restarted but throttle would not respond. Restart, shut off, ignition switch off, and restart required before throttle will respond. Since it did this when hitting bumps, suspect was the side stand. New spring was installed and it stopped the engine shut off for a short period. Then any quick acceleration or bumps started shutting off the engine requiring the restart sequence. Change the Honda side stand switch, metered the old switch, the contact point were so close and variable that indicated the side stand was down when it wasn't which would cause the engine to shut down. Luckily there were no failures on freeways or interstates as it was dangerous enough on a motorcycle on any road.;
2025 HONDA CMX1100 Complaints
Drive chain guard mount broke off while uninstall chain guard for chain maintenance as specified. Simple small threaded bolt into threaded frame mounted bolt boss. Purpose to secure plastic chain guard. Small part factory welded to major component (swingarm) thus can't be replaced separate of entire swingarm. Fasteners were uninstalled and reinstalled three times with hand tool only hand tightened to snug yet thin metal tab snapped off thus can't install chain guard. A safety component. Two trips to dealer and told have it fixed myself, twice. This is a factory designed, manufactured and installed component that failed / broke with normal use as designed to secure protective safety component. Contact Honda customer service and instructed to return to dealer for drive chain freeplay inspection. I did. Dealer corresponds with Honda regarding inspection. Dealer contacts me a day or two later advises Honda wants more inspection of chain guard I return and parts is inspected. Days pass before I hear from Honda when agent asks if I have been to dealer I say yes but indicates a lack of communication. Honda agent advises I must return motorcycle to dealer for further inspection which is absurd but I return to dealer anyway. A ten minute drive. I get to dealer am I am advised Honda contacted dealer and said broken part my fault due to loose chain and contact with chain guard. Neither assertion is true. Honda tells me further inspection required but before inspection initiated already told dealer my fault no warranty. They have no chain free play measurement and there is not one blemish, scuff or mark of any kind on chain guard to indicate contact with chain. There was no contact and chain was not loose, ever. A complete lie and I can provide chain guard to prove it and chain free play checked. They are lying. The owner, me is not at fault. No abuse or misuse. The part failed / broke with normal use only. That is a warrantable defect. 2700 miles. I want it replaced as new.;
2025 HONDA CRF1100 Complaints
I own a 2025 Honda Africa Twin 1100 DCT with approximately 7,300 miles. The rear brake pads became completely worn down to the metal pad-wear indicator clips. According to maintenance personnel at MotorWorld in El Cajon, CA, the root cause was the rear brake caliper failing to retract to its original position after braking. This caused the pads to remain pressed against the rotor while riding, continuously wearing down the pads and rotor. The pads were eventually ground down to the clips, causing severe metal-on-metal contact, grinding, and extremely loud brake squealing. The issue occurred approximately 1.5 weeks ago. There were no warning lights, warning messages, or electronic warnings indicating excessive brake wear or a potentially dangerous condition. This created a significant safety hazard and resulted in multiple near-miss situations. The motorcycle’s braking performance was severely affected, and my braking distance increased by approximately three times the normal distance. The motorcycle was inspected and repaired by MotorWorld in El Cajon, CA. Separately, the maintenance manager at Del Amo Motorsports in Chula Vista, CA, stated that it is “very rare that rear brakes go out before the front, ESPECIALLY at 7,300 miles.” I can provide photographs, dealership documentation, and the removed brake components for inspection. The original dealership also reported the issue to Honda. I believe this is a serious safety concern because the rear brake caliper failed to retract properly, causing severe premature brake and rotor wear without warning. The resulting loss of braking performance substantially increased stopping distance and created multiple near misses. A similar unexpected failure could significantly increase the risk of a crash, serious injury, or death.;
