Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2019-2025 Cayenne, Cayenne E-Hybrid, 2020-2025 911, Taycan, 2024-2025 Panamera, and 2025 Panamera E-Hybrid vehicles. The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 172,107 units affected.

Description:: Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2019-2025 Cayenne, Cayenne E-Hybrid, 2020-2025 911, Taycan, 2024-2025 Panamera, and 2025 Panamera E-Hybrid vehicles. The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequeces:: A rearview image that does not display properly reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will update the driver assistance software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 13, 2026. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is ASB2. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning January 19, 2026.

2025 PORSCHE 911 Complaints
This is a 2025 Porsche 911. The car came equipped with "Land Keep Assist" also referred to as "LKA". In operation it is at times terrible, and at other times genuinely frightening. The system, without warning, intervenes to change the direction of the vehicle by applying steering input. It is very, very, inaccurate and unreliable. When engaged it often is fooled by gaps in road paint markings and similar imperfections. Unlike Electronic Stability Control which intervenes to assure you can maintain the line of travel suggested by steering wheel position, this system makes an independent assessment, one which in my experience is often wrong. It gets worse. In the control screen, LKA is a feature that you can check into the "off" position. The problem with this is the system resets on its own without a command from the driver. I have not figured out what causes this, whether it is time between use or some other measure. This reset happened to me yesterday. I was driving the car and the steering felt odd, with play in the feedback. Very, very disconcerting in any car, let alone a sports car where the driver wants the car to go where commanded. In my case, this uncertain feeling was felt on the Golden Gate Bridge where the lanes are very narrow (and the LKA system is very easily fooled). After a few minutes of the odd feeling I opened the menu on the center screen and saw that LKA had been ticked back on. A very close friend of mine has a 2025 Porsche Cayenne and has described the same problem. As noted above, I am very familiar with ESP systems and value them. I also own another car with a lane keep feature (an Acura) but which is accurate and ONLY is applicable when I affirmatively enable the feature while using the adaptive cruise control. While I would love for the ability to remove this feature, at a minimum when the owner exercises the election to turn it off, it should stay OFF -- i.e., not reengage without warning only to surprise the driver.;
2025 PORSCHE CAYENNE Complaints
My 2025 Porsche Cayenne S was involved in a low-speed crash and experienced multiple safety failures related to the Driver Assistance Control Unit, including phantom braking and camera failure. This crash, I believe, is a direct result of the safety defect identified in Recall ASB2 (NHTSA 25V896), which causes the Driver Assistance Control Unit to fail to process image and sensor data correctly. My vehicle has exhibited a dangerous pattern of electronic and sensor instability that aligns perfectly with the technical failures described in the recall: The Collision: While reversing in a parking garage on November 25, 2025, I struck a wall because the rearview camera and parking sensors failed to provide any notification or visual feed. I now understand this was caused by the "transient signal noise" cited in the recall, which prevents the system from detecting obstacles in specific lighting environments. Phantom Braking: On two separate occasions, the vehicle abruptly "slammed" on the brakes for no apparent reason, nearly causing high-speed rear-end collisions. When reported to The Collection Porsche Service on January 23, 2026, the Service Manager admitted the system is hypersensitive to shadows. This confirms the control unit is failing to correctly interpret image data—the exact root cause of the current recall. Total Electrical Failure: On December 2, 2025, the vehicle suffered a defective alternator, causing a total shutdown in a live intersection. This resulted in a seven-week repair (completed Jan 23, 2026). Unstable voltage from a failing alternator is a primary source of the "signal noise" that causes the driver assistance systems to malfunction. I initially believed the bumper contact was a personal error. However, given the documented failure of the alternator and the subsequent recall regarding camera/sensor data processing, it is clear that the vehicle’s safety systems were compromised at the time of the incident. Porsche NA has been notified.;
2025 PORSCHE CAYENNE E-HYBRID COUPE Complaints
The contact owned a 2025 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the automatic emergency braking system inadvertently deactivated. The automatic emergency braking system and passenger air bag warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the suspension started lowering. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact no longer owned the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,500.;
2025 PORSCHE PANAMERA Complaints
The vehicle is new Porsche Certified pre-owned 2025 Porsche Panamera turbo with Porsche active suspension management. Vehicle has 2000 miles on the odometer. The car was at the dealer for an issue related to its online connectivity. As this was worked upon, I was allowed to pick up the car. At that time, I noticed a Chassis error(Image attached). The car's suspension. was inactive and the ride was extremely low and bumpy. A small bump on the road caused me to almost lose control of the car. Some of the safety features were also disabled as this error showed up. The car was not drivable, so I brought the car to the dealership and the service manager told me that this error was noted by them as they were working on the PCM and should be fixable. However, after about 50 days of the vehicle in the dealership( April 9 2026- now), they have been unable to find a resolution to clear this error and I have been without the vehicle. I am being told Porsche Germany and Porsche North America engineering are unable to identify or unable to repair the chassis computer and there are more vehicles in a similar situation around the country. I have called Porsche North America for support or help with explaining the reason why this brand new vehicle has this defect. I have made close to 20 phone calls after countless hours of being on hold and waiting, with 0 calls returned. I got one email back after 40 days saying the local dealership will handle my case and Porsche North America will close my case even though my car was still being repaired. I believe this may be a manufacturing/ design error and may involve several other cars. This needs to be investigated and Porsche needs to issue a recall to address this concern in other similar cars in the country.;
