2025 PORSCHE 911 Complaints

This is a 2025 Porsche 911. The car came equipped with "Land Keep Assist" also referred to as "LKA". In operation it is at times terrible, and at other times genuinely frightening. The system, without warning, intervenes to change the direction of the vehicle by applying steering input. It is very, very, inaccurate and unreliable. When engaged it often is fooled by gaps in road paint markings and similar imperfections. Unlike Electronic Stability Control which intervenes to assure you can maintain the line of travel suggested by steering wheel position, this system makes an independent assessment, one which in my experience is often wrong. It gets worse. In the control screen, LKA is a feature that you can check into the "off" position. The problem with this is the system resets on its own without a command from the driver. I have not figured out what causes this, whether it is time between use or some other measure. This reset happened to me yesterday. I was driving the car and the steering felt odd, with play in the feedback. Very, very disconcerting in any car, let alone a sports car where the driver wants the car to go where commanded. In my case, this uncertain feeling was felt on the Golden Gate Bridge where the lanes are very narrow (and the LKA system is very easily fooled). After a few minutes of the odd feeling I opened the menu on the center screen and saw that LKA had been ticked back on. A very close friend of mine has a 2025 Porsche Cayenne and has described the same problem. As noted above, I am very familiar with ESP systems and value them. I also own another car with a lane keep feature (an Acura) but which is accurate and ONLY is applicable when I affirmatively enable the feature while using the adaptive cruise control. While I would love for the ability to remove this feature, at a minimum when the owner exercises the election to turn it off, it should stay OFF -- i.e., not reengage without warning only to surprise the driver.
