IC BUS CESB Recalls

Aug 12, 2025 – International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2024-2026 IC Bus CESB and 2025 EVSB school buses. The tension spring may corrode and break, disengaging the barking brake.

Aug 06, 2025 – International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2016-2024 IC Bus CESB school buses. The brake pressure switch assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch's electrical components and cause an electrical short-circuit.

May 15, 2025 – International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2025-2026 IC Bus CESB school buses. The parking brake can be released when the wheelchair platform lift is deployed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 403, "Platform Lift Systems."

Apr 22, 2025 – International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2025-2026 IC CESB and 2025 EVSB school buses. The driver's seat belt anchor bolt may come loose.

Mar 20, 2025 – International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2025-2026 IC Bus CESB school buses equipped with halogen headlights. When the high beams are activated, the low beams turn off. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Oct 02, 2024 – Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2024-2025 IC Bus EVSB and 2024-2025 CESB school buses. The brake caliper mounting bolts may not have been properly tightened, allowing the brake caliper to detach from the anchor plate.

Jun 20, 2024 – Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2025 IC Bus CE school buses. Tie rod assemblies may contain ball studs that may have been incorrectly heat-treated, which can cause them to break, and possibly result in tie rod failure.

May 29, 2024 – Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2024-2025 IC Bus CE school buses. The brake lights, in certain conditions, may not illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed, due to a software error. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

May 15, 2024 – Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2024-2025 IC Bus CE SBUS school buses equipped with Intellipark Park Valve Modules (PVM). The rubber ball seal in the PVM may fracture and cause a leak, which can result in park brake failure or unexpected park brake engagement while driving.

Jun 02, 2023 – Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2016 and 2018-2024 IC Bus CE school buses. The brake pressure switch assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch's electrical components and cause an electrical short-circuit.
