VOLVO VHD Recalls

Jul 09, 2026 – Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2026 VOLVO VHD, VNL (4), VNR (4), VN, and VAH vehicles. The steering knuckles may have been manufactured with insufficiently tightened steering arms.

May 28, 2026 – Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2026 VAH, 2026-2027 VN, VHD, VNL (4), and 2027 VNR (4) vehicles. The wheel lug nuts may loosen and allow the wheel to detach.

Oct 23, 2024 – Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2020-2025 VN, VAH, VHD and VNRE trucks, equipped with Bendix EC80 Advanced Electronic Control Units (ECU). Electrical noise and low signal to the power line carrier may cause the ECU to incorrectly process commands or stop working.

Sep 10, 2024 – Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025 VN and VHD trucks. The wheel lug nuts may be improperly tightened.

Jul 02, 2024 – Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025 VN and VHD trucks equipped with Composilite EXS20 steerable lift axle suspension assemblies. The tie rod assembly ball stud could have been improperly heat treated and can fail.

Jun 04, 2024 – Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025 VN, VNRe, and VHD trucks. The drag link may contain an improperly heat-treated ball stud that can fail, resulting in a sudden loss of steering control.

Jun 04, 2024 – Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025 VN and VHD trucks. The steering gear may have an improperly seated plug in the valve housing, which can result in a sudden loss of steering control.

Dec 05, 2023 – Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2024 VN and VHD vehicles equipped with size 295/75 or 385/65 Continental tires on the front axle. The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the vehicle certification label is incorrect, which can allow the vehicle to be overloaded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."

Nov 15, 2023 – Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2019-2024 VN and VHD vehicles. The passenger side bench seat may be inadequately attached to the floor. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 207, "Seating Systems" and 210, "Seatbelt Assembly Anchorage."

Oct 13, 2023 – Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2024 VNL, VHD, and VNR trucks. The fastener that connects two steering components, the pitman arm and draglink, may be loose, which can cause the connection to fail and result in a loss of steering control.
