2018 AUDI A3- Hendersonville, TN
The vehicle pre-sense stopped the vehicle due to the detection of an object however, there was no object. This happened going forward and in reverse multiple times, causing the car to come to a sudden, abrupt stop even at speeds in excess of 30mph. This resulting in my teen daughter having bruising from the seat belt. The car was taken to the dealership and the dealership recalibrated the control unit. The vehicle continues to unnecessarily activate pre-sense when in reverse, and causes the car to come to an abrupt halt despite there being no object. The system may be responding to shadows. Numerous returns to the service department continue to yield “no codes”. The PODS system was recalled and this is a related system.

2019 AUDI Q8- Philadelphia, PA
The alternator failed causing the vehicle to shutdown in the middle of traffic. I was on a surface road not the highway so I was able to get local police to assist. When it failed there was no car electrical system function, so I could not even turn on my emergency blinkers. This is apparently very common on Audis, as the same part was used to replace the alternator…. It took a month for the dealership to get the part in stock.

2022 AUDI RS Q8- New hope, PA
Car alerted us to an electrical malfunction then advise us the car was shutting down and find a place to pull over immediately. Turns out that this was an alternator failure that is very common for this car. Audi and the dealership were aware of the issue but instead of proactively fixing the problem they let me get stranded on the side of a busy highway for 90 minutes while I waited for a tow truck. They should not be allowed to play Russian roulette with us driving cars with very dangerous problems.

2015 AUDI Q5- Phoenixville, PA
Cylinder #3 lost compression, down to 30 psi from 170 psi, causing the car to lose power and run extremely rough or not run on occasion. This is a safety hazard, especially risky for highway driving. There were no warning messages, car just start running very rough or wouldn't start. Such loss of compression has been reported by an Audi service manager who says Cylinder #3 is known to have this issue, but there is no recall for it yet. The problems began in May 2021. The car was drinking/consuming oil frequently and occasionally running rough. It was taken to multiple mechanics to identify the issue. Fixes included changing spark plugs, coils, and the PCV valve to provide temporary solutions at best. 5/24/21 increased consumption of oil began 9/9/22 rough idle, spark plugs replaced 10/14/22 rough idle and burning oil, taken to a service shop, replaced the PCV valve 7/12/23 rough idle again, spark plugs replaced again under warranty 2/14/24 - rough shake again, spark plugs replaced again and dead cylinder #3 confirmed

2021 AUDI RS 7- Santa Ana, CA
The car continues to smell like coolant and burns excessive oil. It has been taken in for service. Repairs have been attempted but problem still exists. On one occasion, service records indicate a test drive when the mileage remained the same. The oil consumption test I do not believe was performed correctly as I did not get the specific data metrics or points regarding starting point of measurement and end point. They also completed the test at only 1200 miles after requesting for them not to. I am concerned they are trying to hide a design flaw since they redesigned the piston rings when cars were burning excessive oil, bulletin # MC-10245613-0001. They continue to deny oil consumption issues even when I continue to top off the oil 2-3 times between 10,000 mile services. All I am told is "it's a high performance car. It's normal." This appeared in the first 10k miles. At 19,637 miles, I had my 20k service performed. It was brought back in at 22,897 when the oil light came on.

2021 AUDI Q5- Atlanta, GA
The Audi "Pre Sense" automatic braking system engaged without warning and without reason bringing the vehicle to a sudden and complete stop in the middle of an intersection and slamming my body backwards and causing my head to go forward nearly hitting the steering wheel. A school bus was directly behind me and was able to stop in time before it ran into the back of my vehicle, but it could have caused serious injury or death to multiple people. It caused a considerable amount of pain in my neck the day after and soreness in my ribs. The vehicle gave no prior warning. It did display a message simultaneously when it applied the brakes and locked the seatbelts that the "pre sense" had been engaged. It has happened three times prior to this incident. The vehicle dealer has told me that they see record of the system engaging but it does not appear to be faulty by the manufacturers standards despite numerous complaints and frequent occurrences.
