2020 AUDI A6- Richboro, PA
The electronic/central door locking system on my 2020 Audi A6 malfunctioned. The vehicle and affected components are available for inspection upon request. The vehicle was running with my two young children secured in car seats in the rear seats. I briefly exited and closed the driver's door. When I attempted to re-enter, the vehicle was locked and I was unable to gain access for approximately 10 minutes. My key fob was in my pocket but the proximity/keyless entry system failed, and repeated attempts with both my primary and spare key fobs failed to unlock the vehicle. My children were too young to operate the locks or release themselves from their car seats. I was preparing to break a window when the driver's door suddenly began functioning normally again after approximately 10 minutes. This created a serious safety risk because I could not access my young children in the vehicle during the malfunction. An authorized Audi dealer subsequently inspected the vehicle and diagnosed faults in both rear door latch units and recommended replacement. Audi of America has also been notified of the incident and dealer findings. The dealership quoted me a 2600$ repair for both door latches and refused to provide any assistance despite the obvious safety risk of this defect. the vehicle is almost exactly 5 years form purchase date with approximately 46k miles Prior to this incident, the vehicle had displayed "Central locking malfunction" and child-lock related warnings. The front passenger door latch mechanism was also replaced by Audi under warranty in July 2024 following a previous locking-system concern. This vehicle has now experienced locking-system problems involving multiple doors. I am concerned this intermittent failure could recur and again prevent access to vehicle occupants. 2026 AUDI S5- Lower Burrell, PA
Summary of Safety Event: While traveling at highway speeds with active traffic behind me, the vehicle’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suffered an un-commanded, severe "phantom braking" event. The vehicle aggressively engaged the emergency service brakes and decelerated rapidly with absolutely no obstacles, pedestrians, or vehicles ahead. This sudden, violent deceleration created an immediate and high-risk rear-end collision hazard.Cascading Component Failures:In tandem with the dangerous autonomous braking behavior, the vehicle's electronic architecture (E³ 1.2 platform) is exhibiting chronic software instability. The High-Performance Computing infotainment stack continuously enters an internal network routing loop, displaying "Hotspot Reconfiguring" error messages. This completely crashes the cloud connectivity, signs out the primary driver profile, and force-reboots the central MMI display screen and wireless Android Auto interfaces mid-drive.Manufacturer Actions & Hazard Status:I have contacted the manufacturer (Audi of America) and local dealership service networks regarding these systemic software and safety issues, which Audi documents under master overview Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 2081477. The vehicle currently poses an active safety risk to myself and surrounding motorists due to unpredictable braking behavior. The manufacturer has not yet provided a date to flash the corrected firmware containers (KD2* software update) to resolve the sensor fusion logic flaws.

2022 AUDI E-TRON- Philadelphia, PA
The vehicle is experiencing an intermittent but active 'Electrical system: malfunction!' safety alert on the dashboard and myAudi app, caused by an internal high-voltage battery cell circuit fault (Diagnostic Trouble Code P0DB400 / U04A300) and a failure in the battery thermal runaway detection system. When the fault occurs, the vehicle suffers a complete loss of regenerative braking, severely affecting stopping predictability and vehicle handling. An authorized Audi dealership (Audi West Chester) confirmed the internal module failure under TAC Case NF-1675032 and directed a full battery module replacement. Diagnostic scans have confirmed two highly critical manufacturer trouble codes: P0DB400 (Hybrid/EV Battery Cell Balancing Circuit "C") and U04A300 (Invalid Data Received From Hybrid/EV Battery Interface Control Module "C"). However, a second dealership (Audi Cherry Hill) is refusing to honor the High-Voltage Battery Warranty or perform the necessary repairs because the safety code is currently showing as 'static' during their stationary test. Leaving an active high-voltage balancing and thermal tracking defect unaddressed poses an immediate risk of a sudden vehicle shutdown while driving or a potential thermal event.

2019 AUDI Q5- Brooklyn, NY
Severe consequential safety defect involving total anti-lock braking system (ABS) failure stemming from a manufacturer recall defect and volatile CAN-bus network conditions during repair. This vehicle has less than 7,500 miles and has been grounded at an authorized dealership, Audi Brooklyn- Lic# [XXX], 700 Hicks Street, Brooklyn, NY 11231, for exactly 20 days since being flatbed-towed on [XXX], due to total power failure caused by the known manufacturing defect of clogged sunroof drains flooding the critical interior electrical network. The dealership replaced the comfort control module under the VIN recall warranty. However, during the dealer's active programming phase of this recall component, a fatal communication fault was introduced to the J104 ABS safety module. My original Service Advisor documented explicitly in writing via text that the technician observed the ABS faults materialize specifically during the recall programming process. No prior warning signs other than the vehicle's sudden loss of power. The manufacturer's design defect allowed moisture ingress to destabilize the vehicle's localized CAN-bus communication network, leading directly to the catastrophic failure of a critical braking system (ABS). Dealership management is now attempting to evade safety liability and force an out-of-pocket repair payment by manipulating records. They have actively backdated internal "Ready for Pickup" dates for the vehicle from August 24 to September 1 to hide an 8-day window where they concealed a New York State safety inspection failure from me and attempted to release an illegal, uninspected vehicle with compromised brakes back to a vulnerable consumer. The owners of the vehicle are [XXX]. Furthermore, despite claiming the ABS module was a severe safety hazard, the facility logged 50 unauthorized miles (odometer jumped from 7,437 to 7,487) on public roads while it has been in their custody. 2024 AUDI Q3- BELLEAIR BEACH , FL
I am submitting this complaint because I have experienced serious safety-related concerns involving Audi vehicles, and I am extremely concerned that these issues could result in a serious accident, injury, or loss of life. My personal vehicle is a **2024 Audi Q3**, which has experienced safety-related problems involving the braking system, wheel/speed sensors, parking recognition system, and other related vehicle safety and driver-assistance systems. I also want to report a separate and extremely serious incident involving an **Audi loaner vehicle that was provided to me by the Audi dealership while my 2024 Audi Q3 was being repaired**. While I was driving the Audi loaner vehicle, **the wheel/wheel assembly came off the vehicle while it was in motion**. This was an extremely dangerous situation that could have resulted in a catastrophic accident, serious injury, or death. The loaner Audi has a different VIN from my 2024 Audi Q3. I do not currently have that VIN available, but the dealership should have records identifying the exact loaner vehicle that was assigned to me while my Q3 was being repaired. I am reporting both situations because I believe these safety concerns need to be properly documented and investigated. A wheel coming off a vehicle while it is being driven, along with the braking, wheel/sensor, parking-recognition, and related safety concerns I have experienced with my own Audi, raises very serious concerns for me. I do not want another driver or family to experience something similar. These are not simply convenience or cosmetic issues. They involve systems and components that can directly affect the safe operation and control of a vehicle and potentially put people's lives at risk. I respectfully request that NHTSA review these incidents and determine whether further investigation is warranted. I am willing to provide repair records, dealership communications, photographs, accident information, service records, and any other documentation. Thanks

2016 AUDI A4 ALLROAD- Manassas, VA
Suspension subframe crossmember (Upper)(part number 8K0505235AQ) has severe rust Corrosion perforation, and is available for inspection. Fear of unsafe vehicle operation due to the Structural integrity being severely compromised rendering the vehicle unsafe to operate. The rusted subframe as been confirmed by an Audi dealer and an independent service center. The vehicle has been inspected by the Audi dealer and the independent service center. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the discovery of the subframe failure. The rusted subframe was first discovered on May 12, 2026 by the independent service center and later confirmed by the Audi dealer on May 15, 2026.

2025 AUDI Q3- Albuquerque, NM
I was driving down the highway, roughly 60mph, when my yellow tire pressure warning light came on. The car did not feel any different while driving. I drove for another 5-10 mins when suddenly my car jerked to the left. I let off the gas and slowed to a safe spot to park. That was when I started to smell burning rubber, after I parked I got out and that was when I noticed I was riding on the rim with no tire. Tire is 255/45/R19

2026 AUDI A5- Ardsley, NY
Issue: Unexpected and extremely forceful Brake Hold impeded normal and safe driving maneuvers. While driving in heavy stop-and-go traffic on an incline approaching the GW Bridge towards NY, I cautiously attempted to move out of my lane into an adjacent lane. I lightly applied the brake, (I believe the automatic brake hold activated, to prevent rolling backwards) and the vehicle suddenly jerked extremely hard and came to a complete stop in the middle of the lane. A loud banging sound occurred at the same time, sounding like a collision. Fortunately, there was no collision. The safety concern is particularly serious when changing lanes or merging from slow-moving traffic into a lane where vehicles are traveling significantly faster. An unexpected and forceful stop could leave the vehicle stopped in the path of approaching traffic and creates a substantial risk of being struck from behind or causing a collision. Currently the 2026 Audi A5 Brake Hold function can be disabled only for level grade driving. However, it activates automatically when driving uphill. On a downhill it also activates if you press hard on the brake. "Because the Brake Hold function can interfere with normal and cautious maneuvering the manufacturer should allow the driver to totally deactivated the Brake Hold on demand". Thank you

2026 AUDI RS 3- Bellingham, WA
Door jamb on car states PSI should be COLD 49 PSI. However, the MAX PRESSURE printed on the tire itself, is 50 PSI. Through normal driving as temperature of the tire increases, it put the tire at an unsafe PSI of 53 and higher on hot days. This becomes a dangerous tire to drive on. WIth regular driving, tires will develop deformation driving on normal roads. The slightest bump can cause "impact damage" to the tire, to which the tire company and vehicle manufacturer state they are not responsible for the damage. Once there is damage to the tire, this now creates a very unsafe tire to drive on and could blow out and cause an incident. 2025 AUDI S5- Export, PA
The Lane Keep Assist system will randomly attempt to steer into the shoulder or oncoming lane. This requires rapid correction from the driver to maintain travel within the lane. The most recent incident attempted to steer the vehicle into an oncoming school bus. Multiple repair attempts have been made by three dealers, the third of which performed a camera cleaning and ADAS calibration which was not covered under either the new vehicle warranty or the extended service contract despite being within the terms of both. The first dealer declined to test the vehicle, stating they did not have the necessary equipment to attempt a repair. The second declined to reproduce any of the issues noted at drop-off or perform any inspections beyond a "test drive" to and from the service center from the dealership. At the first two dealers, the lane keep assist was turned off when the vehicle was returned. After the final repair, the vehicle now usually stays in the middle of the lane and the top-down 360 degree camera view now accurately shows obstructions around the vehicle, and no more hidden obstacles suddenly "pop" into the rearview camera. This fault with the lane keep assist is most noticeable when using the system on two lane rural highways, though it can happen elsewhere. The indicator for the side of the vehicle being corrected changes from green to red as expected for intervention during each event. No specific fault codes are logged for this activation. This issue has been present since delivery of the vehicle. Similar loaners from the dealer provided during service do not exhibit this same fault on the same roads in the same locations.
