The MMI system in the car spontaneously reboots, every 2-5 minutes. During reboot, the screen goes black and systems such as the backup camera, rear cross traffic detection, rear collision warning, and navigation are lost until the reboot completes and the user has to cycle thru multiple input & loading screens to get back to full functionality. Given the length of time the reboot requires, often the screen gets back to usability, only to reboot again less than a minute later. The reboots are random and occur whether the radio is off, radio playing; bluetooth connected, not connected; android auto running/not running; car moving, car parked; engine off, engine on; cold weather/hot weather; wet weather/dry weather. This should be considered a safety issue, as the reboots can happen in the middle of a reverse parking maneuver, and they render the backup camera and obstacle detection sensors completely inoperative until the system reloads. They also impact safety on the highway, as the reboots completely disable the navigation screens, and require multiple user input to restore, while driving.

MMI system / touch screen on dash is "Blacking out" during reverse backing. Cannot utilize the backing camera. Very dangerous when backing. Took car to independent dealer, with no certain diagnosis. I depend on my back up camera pretty much all the time. The first time this appeared was about 6 weeks ago when the MMI lost connection. Attempted reboots. And the issue has gotten worst.

MMI system frequently shuts down and reboots. This is a safety concern as the screen has shut down and gone dark in the middle of backing up, while using the backup camera and navigation is lost when driving on the highway causing a dangerous distraction. Within a minute of turning on car, the system shuts down, reboots and continues to shut down and reboot repeatedly throughout the duration of the drive. They system only stays operational for a few seconds to a few minutes at a time. This has been happening ever since I purchased the vehicle in 2022, however it used to be sporadic, occurring only once a month or so. Recently is has been occurring daily and the MMI system is now completely unusable.

Infotainment system restarts every 2 minutes. The entire system is unusable. This affects my safety because the radio static would come on every time it reboots at a loud volume. It is very distracting as it happens at every reboot revery 2 minutes. The screen keeps turning on and off is also very distracting. This has not been inspected by anyone but me. I see this problem surfacing online everywhere: [XXX] No warning message. First appear in March, restarting every few hours, but last few days it restarts every couple minutes. The right back up light is defective. This light is in the right rear light housing that sits in the rear bumper. The defective light indicator came on before the 5 year/40k mile warranty had expired. The lamp bulb was changed as I believed this was the cause of the defect error. Took vehicle to Audi dealership where the car was purchased and the service advisor mentioned this happens "all the time" and the entire rear light housing will need to be replaced. Technician diagnostics confirmed this. The bulb was not in-fact out, the power/wiring to the housing was not malfunctioning and the error/fault/malfunction is in the rear bumper light housing. This same issue with 2018 and 2019 Audi's was reported in a thread on [XXX] as well. I feel this is a manufacturing defect and repair/replacement should be covered by the manufacturer, not the consumer. Not having an illuminated reverse backup light is a safety concern for all drivers. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2018 Audi Q5. The contact stated that while driving 35-40 MPH and accelerating, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact pulled to the side of the road, and the vehicle was able to restart. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the body control module(BCM) was floating in water. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V947000 (Electrical System, Structure), and the additional repairs were at the contact's expense. The contact stated that the recall remedy was inadequate for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.

The vehicle software (known as Audi MMI) has been continuously rebooting every 30 seconds after the vehicle is started. This causes the entire dashboard (and entertainment screen) to repeatedly reboot which is very distracting while driving. While backing out of a parking spot, the MMI system rebooted which then disconnected my backup camera, blind spot warning, and rear collision warning systems which resulted in me almost hitting a car crossing behind me. There are zero messages anywhere in the car that an issue is present.

The main infotainment system is stuck restarting every 1-2 minutes. When the car is put into reverse, the rear back up camera will turn off while the vehicle is in motion and not resume.
