2022 BUICK ENCORE GX- Steeleville, IL
For the last week or so, my car, a 2022 Buick Encore GX Sport, that I bought brand new and currently only has 30,000 miles, does not acknowledge being in Park when I park the vehicle and try to turn it off. This causes the car to remain on and radio playing and it beeping that it needs attention and to shift it to Park. if you try to close the door, it honks letting you know the car is still on, and pushing the shifter forward, trying to ensure it is all the way in Park does not resolve the issue. Restarting the car and trying to move it in a different gear either way (forward or reverse) and putting it back in park does not resolve the issues either. This is very frustrating and now I am worried about the car rolling or even having transmission issues since you have to restart and try to wiggle and finagle the shifter just so to finally get it to recognize it's really in Park. I did a recall search and have not found any recalls, I called the Dealer where I purchased it and they stated they have had to replace many shifters in this make and model and as a matter of fact where working on one at the time of my call and therefore did not currently have any parts available to correct this issue on my car. This is my only form of transportation and I cannot afford the estimated quote for this repair when parts do finally come in. What's the point in having a car that doesn't shut off?!?!?!

2017 BUICK CASCADA- Smithtown, NY
The component is the PCV and manifold. Cracks develop in the PCV pressure regulator and manifold creating a situation where excess air was drawn into the engine intake. This caused the engine to run rough and unpredictable. This is a known defect and the 2016 model with the same engine was recalled. The recall, N192291620 only covered the 2016 however the 2017 has the same engine and experienced the same problem. The car was brought to the dealer and they confirmed the problem. The dealer said the only way to repair was to replace the parts, cost for repair approx $2300.

2014 BUICK ENCLAVE- MONTGOMERY, AL
Purchased vehicle almost a year ago with Mobile dealership telling me they were unable to have air bags replaced due to lack of parts from manufacturer. I have been in contact every few months with local dealership (Mullinax in Montgomery, AL) checking on status of recalled airbags. July 2025 I received a letter from General Motors to contact local dealer as airbags were available for recall. I did so and dealership confirmed part and scheduled appointment for repair for a month later. On date of appointment I was on time delivering vehicle as they confirmed it would take most of the day. Three hours later I was called saying there was no airbags available to me and that I would have to be put on a waiting list as one was ordered. I have read where these malfunction causing major damage to vehicle which dealerships and GM do not cover. I cannot afford this type of damage and don't understand how a month goes by where you have the part and then on the day of repair you don't.

2017 BUICK ENCORE- Lansing , MI
The turbo charge is not providing adequate power. I was on the highway and the car began to chugging then accelerated on its own and all the lights on the dash came on then all went off like it was going to shut down. I put my hazards on and started to pull to the side of the highway. I gave it a moment for the car and for me because I was terrified, my kids were in the car and traffic was going steady around 70-75 miles per hour and I was scared as it began to shut down that I would be hit by traffic behind me before I could get over. It started driving again. It still drives but is hard to accelerate and even when stopped you can see the RPM rising. It’s as if the car never idles, it feels as though is constantly under load. I have had it looked at professionally at Midas but they will only say they think it is the turbo as there are no codes coming up. I have had it looked at by mechanics I know who have fixed other things that may cause similar issues and nothing has worked and they also believe it is the turbo. I’ve know other people with Buicks and they have had similar problems I’m confused as to why this 1.4 liter turbo has not been recalled.

2021 BUICK ENCLAVE- BOVEY, MN
Problem: The back hatch or trunk door pops open randomly on its own, many times a day. In a parking lot once. It hasn't happened while I've been driving. Safety issue because if it were to open while in public and a person wasn't in the vehicle, then anyone could enter the vehicle and theft could occur. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection. A service center confirmed that it's the switch in the back hatch. No, the vehicle hasn't been inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance. No, there haven't been any warning lights with this issue.

2022 BUICK ENCORE- Camden, ME
My Encore is full of mice and mice droppings. The man at the dealership said GM should have screens or other safety measures done at the factory. This car has just 10,000 mils and I keep it in pristine condition. People can't believe how clean I keep it and this happens??? The tech told me there are at least 8-10 spots were mice come in. It is too easy for them. My brand new car is going to be totaled or close to it. I have AAA, but am already with all the added fee's at Enterprise car rental and my $500 deductible $700 out of pocket! I'm [XXX] and on a very fixed income. I'm still making car payments for the next 4 or 5 years. It's like never smoking and getting lung cancer. I didn't do anything wrong. GM is responsible. The are very irresponsibly in their manufacturing. Should I get a lawyer? The man who's meeting with the adjuster from my insurance told me how dangerous it was for driving this car. He said the smell (which I was unfortunately used to it, it's called olfactory fatigue, also known as odor fatigue, olfactory adaptation,) was very toxic. Yes, Gene Hackman's wife died from the inhaling rodent waste. I'm a Respiratory Therapist and know about the toxic particular you don't see and how it can and will kill you. Something has to be done. There are millions of innocent people that are dying because GM is too cheap to have this done in the factory! Please help asap. Thank you. I get an error "shift to park" when I put my vehicle in "park" and shut it off. It goes into accessory mode and beeps. If I try to leave the vehicle, it will honk to alert me about the issue and I can't lock the vehicle and it stays in accessory mode. To alleviate this issue, I have to put the vehicle in reverse for a few feet and then drive forward and put it into park again, which can take many, many attempts to finally get the error to stop. This could be a safety issue if I have passengers trying to exit the vehicle while I'm attempting this maneuver. It is also a safety issue for those walking behind me in a parking lot because it takes so many attempts, it increases the chance is that I miss seeing someone walking behind me.

2020 BUICK ENCLAVE- SPRINGFIELD, MO
We bought this 2020 Buick Enclave from Pinegar Chevrolet in Republic, MO from the preowned side of the dealership. When we test drove it only in the parking lot it didn't make any noises, but as soon as we drove off the lot after purchase the brakes made a noise as if the anti lock brake system was not working properly making it difficult to stop as the car should. We also was told that since this is a preowned and not a certified preowned that it was sold as is no warranty. I believe GM needs to fix this issue ASAP or the dealership needs to either buy the car back or put us into something with a warranty that doesn't have safety issues. We bought this as our family vehicle and I don't believe it is road worthy or safe to be transporting my family in.
