2016 CHRYSLER 200 Complaints

Air bag light comes on. We have had it checked by 3 different technicians. They have found that it is an issue with the control module, and seat squibs need to be replaced. This is a $4000 issue that is directly related to the safety of the driver of the car. They said it looks to be a manufacturing issue but unfortunately is not covered by the extended warranty that we purchased.

The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the power steering warning light illuminated. Additionally, the power steering seized, and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stated that the failure had occurred three times within three days. The contact stated that the failure occurred while driving on a major highway. The contact was almost involved in an accident due to the failure. The vehicle was towed to the dealer twice; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was scheduled to be towed to the dealer to be repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.

The airbag Service light keeps coming on. There has been no accidents to this vehicle. There was a airbag safety recall on Chrysler 2016, but when I contacted Chrysler, they said my vehicle fell out of the date range that they assigned the recall to it was manufactured before a certain date reference number 90517639. Chrysler should be responsible to ensure that buyers are safe in their vehicles and they need to help get this issue corrected

My vehicle Chrysler 200 2016 has several car mechanical issues. The shifting gears. Rough shifting while driving.The affected vehicle would lurch through gears, and it would sometimes shut down or automatically shift to neutral. Grinding or a crunching sound. Clutch slips or doesn't “feel right” Burning smell or high engine revs. Car started rough, shifting and having transmission problems a year after we had it. Airbag sensor won’t turn off.

was driving and pulling in next to garage heard a loud pop and brake pedal when hard and could not stop the car and hit the side of the garage . safty issue is if i was at a higher speed and light turns red would not have been able to stop the car and would have hit another car or person , there was no warning lights on till after the pop when the red brake light came on, and said service eltric brakes it has been looked at by me and it has the same iisues that the dodge dart had for the recall r63 with the brake booster geting oil in it from the vacuum tube assembly have called chrysler and they said it is not and issue but it is a safty issue

I HAVE BEEN SMELLING OIL AN ANTIFREEZE INSIDE MY CAR FOR ABOUT 1 YEAR. I AM NOT SURE IF THE OIL WILL START A FIRE, OR IF THE SMELL COULD HARM ME. I GOOGLED THE ISSUE AND FOUND THAT THERE SEEMS TO MBE A PROBLEM WITH THE OIL FILLER, COOLER UNIT. I WAS ABLE TO SHINE A FLASHLIGHT DOWN AT THE BASE OF OIL COOLER AND COULD SEE ANTIFREEZE STANDING ON ONE SIDE AND OIL STANDING ON THE OTHER SIDE. i DON'T SEE ANY OIL ON GROUND BUT I SMELL IT STRONGLY AND I HAVE TO ADD BOTH OIL AND ANTIFREEZE EVERY 2 WEEKS i WORK ON MY OWN CAR. THERE ARE NO LIGHTS NOR CODES IT SEEMS TO BE A BIG PROBLEM ON YOUTUBE AND THE CHRYSLER 200 FORUM

The contact was able to coast to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart. After jumpstarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not assist. The failure mileage was 135,000.

The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle inadvertently shut off. During the failure the power steering and power brakes became inoperable. While attempting to restart the vehicle, the message "Waiting to Restart" was displayed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 95,000.

The car originally would not start after several try's with the push start it started. However, the shift signal came up on the dashboard and the emergency brake light automatically came on, Once I pressed the brake it went off but none of the gear shift lights came on. Therefore, I was unable to drive or reverse the car it would not allow me to move forward or backward. The emergency brake light kept coming on when I pressed the gas. Also a message on the dash read emergency brake engaged for safety drive precautions.

I believe the brake or something related to the brakes failed. I ran a stop sign, with no evidence of brake marks on the road. I crossed over a highway hit a side walk almost hit a house. The safety of myself and others was at extreme danger. When finally came to a stop I couldn't put my car in Park, or back in drive or shut my car off, i beleive i had no braking or something electrical failed. My car is totaled. The only light on was the airbag light before the accident.
