2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA Complaints

While driving my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica at highway speeds the steering wheel locks or sticks in a curve and is extremely scary! This happened to me back in 2022 and took several trips to the dealer to determine the problem as they could not recreate the occurrence. After several attempts they found recall V53/NHTSA 19V-348, they followed the recall and returned the vehicle to me in August of 2022. Everything working great until Now AGAIN in 2026 4 yrs later while driving at highway speeds the vehicle is doing the EXACT same thing, I returned to dealership that fixed recall V53 to perform the same recall, they stated the recall only has a 2 yr warranty and that I must pay a $250 diagnostic, I refused and called Chrysler Recall and they stated the same thing, this is ABSOLUTLEY RIDICULOUS! This is a major safety issue that could cause an accident and should be a lifetime warranty recall, the fact that the safety of their costumers and all others on the road is not their top priority is baffling! I'm extremely disappointed in the dealership and Chrysler and am now reconsidering buying a Chrysler when I get a new car next year.

Steering wheel sticking at 11 and 1 o clock position, has become very difficult to turn and feels like overcorrecting to keep vehicle in center of lane.

The backup camera rarely works anymore. It will show a variety of the following: - A blue screen - A black screen - A still image - It works correctly (Rarely happens). The still image is a great cause of concern for safety. It still shows the guiding lines as I am moving the steering wheel, so it almost looks like I am moving in real-time. If the still image is showing nothing behind my vehicle, it could cause me to back over something/someone because camera did not display real-time video. (Attached photos show a vehicle behind my car, but when I turn on the camera, there is a still image. The third image shows the guide turning on the still image). Dealer has stated it is a known issue, but there is not a recall. Many reports of this issue can be found in online forums. Vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance. There were no warning lamps or other symptoms prior to the failure. Issue has been intermittent for about a month.

While driving at highway speed, my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica PHEV suddenly entered limp mode, displaying a red turtle warning light and red battery icon, and lost propulsion. My family was forced to pull onto the shoulder of a busy expressway, creating an immediate safety risk to occupants and other drivers. The vehicle was towed to an authorized Chrysler dealership where it has remained for nearly four weeks. A wiTECH scan confirmed the Battery Pack Control Module is showing as unprogrammed. A second scan three weeks later confirmed the BPCM remains unprogrammed and three active DTCs are present. The dealership has confirmed these findings but is attempting to release the vehicle in this condition. Records show Recall 03A for loss of motive power was previously performed on this vehicle. The same symptoms have recurred, suggesting the recall remedy may not have been effective. The dealership is denying warranty coverage while refusing to program the BPCM that would confirm or deny that coverage. Stellantis customer care has closed my case twice without resolution. I have formally refused pickup on safety grounds.

Driving on highway with winding roads the steering wheel would stick on a slight turn. It would happen at the 11oclock & 1oclock position, mostly on a right curve. When correcting back you get a slight over steer. This happened over the 4 of July holiday 2026. At slower speeds it did not seem to happen. No warning lights or messages were displayed.

I have a big problem with this van’s brakes I couldn’t brake when I was driving on the freeway it didn’t brake properly and so dangerous and I was terrified luckily didn’t get into accident I complained about this issue to the nhtsa about this Chrysler Pacifica

The steering sticks when at highway speeds on curves. It can be made available for inspection upon request. Our safety is at risk when it sticks because over correction can make us flip the vehicle or collide with other drivers. This is a know issue with this car but I must empathize that it needs to a recall that would allow us to have this fixed for the safety of not only the drivers but for other people on the roads. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the steering wheel would stick when turned approximately to the one o'clock position, requiring to be jerked to operate as intended. The contact stated that when the failure occurred, the auto start-stop warning light illuminated, and the check engine warning light would intermittently flash on and off. The back up camera does not turn on immediately. Sometimes it takes up to 3 minutes for it to turn on, after shifting into reverse. I understand this is a violation of the safety requirement for a back up camera. There is not an open recall for this particular issue on this VIN. The dealer service department confirmed the issue but has not offered a solution. It has not been inspected by the police or insurance representatives. There are no warnings or messages related to the issue. It first occurred approximately 1 year ago.
