I was driving on a 40 mph road when the minivan flashed a message on the dashboard that the engine was off and I needed to put the car in Park to restart it- essentially the car stalled while I was driving 40 mph. Luckily it was 10 pm with few cars around and I was able to merge across 4 lanes and turn on a side street as the car rolled to a stop against a curb. I tried for 5 minutes to do as the car message was indicating- put the car in Park, turn the engine on, but the car would not return to normal function, Drive would not engage, the car would not accelerate. Eventually I got the car to successfully turn off, turn on, and engage in Drive mode, and I was able to drive the rest of the way home, however the engine light remained illuminated the entire drive (the car's app calls this the "Malfunction Indicator Light"), and I was very nervous about the situation repeating and not being in a position where I could easily pull over, so I took the smallest side streets I could to wind my way home in case I had to pull over again with a moment's notice. I checked the car the next morning- the engine light is still illuminated. I called the dealership and they told me the earliest diagnostics appointment they could offer me is 7 weeks from now, and the best advice they could give me was that as long as the engine light was not "flashing" then it was not imminently dangerous to drive, and that it could be "anything" (possibly minor) causing the engine light to be illuminated. I am afraid to drive the vehicle in case this happens again and they are offering me a 7 week wait to have something done about it. Forums I read have said this is a common, documented problem. This is a supremely dangerous event depending on where one happens to be driving at the random moment that the malfunction takes place.

We were driving our Chrysler Pacifica hybrid on the highway and it stalled and said put into park and completely turned off. When we pulled over to the side of the road, the car would not start and had to be towed to the dealership. It was very unsafe and not the first time that our car has turned off.

Have a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle which we picked up 10/8. This incident occured 11/3, Issue occurred with car under 1000 miles driven. So less than 1 month of ownership. Driving on 4 lane highway during stop and go traffic. Driving approximately 15-20 MPH. Car suddenly loses all forward motive power with engine light and battery light flashing on dashboard. in center dash it was saying "Service Charging System". Luckily, was able to coast to shoulder of highway. Was unable to restart car for 15 minutes, Car kept saying to put into P and until after completely turning the car off by opening the driver side door to simulate leaving the vehicle, and then closing the door. Drove to dealer and car stored DTC P0A45 error code, which they cleared and test drove for 50 miles. They could not reproduce the issue. Losing driving power is very dangerous while driving at any speed! this is a HUGE safety concern for my family with two small children. This needs to be investigated and a cause determined! This is a major accident or even death waiting to happen!

Twice while driving on the highway the accelerator stopped working and the dash acted as if the car was off - it instructed to hold the brake and press the start button to turn it on. After coasting over to the side of the road I was able to put it in park, but pressing the power button did not turn it off. The check engine light and battery light were both on (they turned on as soon as the car "shut off") We had to disconnect the 12V battery and reconnect it to reset the system and then it started normally - we googled the problem to find this fix so apparently it is not uncommon. Both times it happened on the highway with a 75mph speed limit, where it is incredibly dangerous for you car to just stop working!

Twice now driving on the freeway in my brand new 2022 Plug-in Pacifica with 10K miles— all of a sudden there is a rumble (feels like a down shift) and the vehicle won’t accelerate. The dash message started flashing “Put in P to Start.” However, the car is still on and in “run.” I pulled over, put the vehicle in park, and turned it off. Then I had to push start button several times to unlock the shifter to go to drive again. A check engine light came on. The first time it happened, I finished my trip. Later that day when I had parked the car for a few hours the check engine light went off. The second incident happened a week later. The engine light came on. So I dove to the closest Auto Zone for a code reading. It came back at: P0A43.

I brought my Hybrid Pacifica in Fed,2022. Last month it just lost power while I was driving and after that engine light up. Need to wait couple minutes to restart the engine and this issue has been reproduced every day. I brought the car to the dealership and they confirm the issue, they did update the software(recalls) but did work. so far they hold the car for a month waiting for parts to replace.

While driving on the freeway, check engine light came on, all acceleration power was lost, car directed me to “put car in park, press brake, and push start button.” This led to extremely dangerous situation of having to navigate traffic and reach the shoulder with no ability to accelerate. Vehicle was powered down and restarted and was able to return to the road. This has happened 10 times total. This is the first reoccurrence since getting the power inverter module replaced at the dealership four days ago.

2022 Hybrid pacifica limited Breakdown on freeway, accelarator became unresponsive and car stopped. Hi all, I have a pacifica hybrid 2022 limited with 8000 miles on it. Less then 7 months old.I ran into a very dangerous situation last Monday. I was driving on a freeway and car Brokedown on freeway, accelarator unresponsive , HMI said shift P to start , gear change didn't do anything and blinking, check engine light came up. It was very dangerous and someohow I was able to get into Shoulder lane and with God's grace we survived. After 3 4 minutes I was able to get my car turn off and on and then it drove normal. So I decided to take it in nearby open parking area and get it towed from there but even then it broke down 4 times. This is serious life threatening especially with family. I got it towed to dealership and they said next day a Software update fixed it which was hard to believe so i asked them to drive for 25 miles and guess what ? Same issue happened again. So car is back to service now and I haven't heard anything back. Worst part is i had similar issue of car shutting down but that time it was in electric mode related to service charging and this was in gas mode with check engine light ON. I just wanted to see if anyone else had similar issue and how it got resolved? Thanks for the help. I am attaching some videos

While driving approximately 35mph and without any warning, the vehicle suddenly slammed on the brakes and came to a stop in the middle of the road. If another vehicle had been following behind there could have been a collision. The forward collision alert might have gone off; afterwards most of the warning lights were on. We were able to slowly power through the brakes to a nearby parking lot. We could not turn off the car or put the transmission in Park or Neutral, it was completely immobilized. All of the transmission lights were on and could not be changed by turning the dial. The vehicle was towed to a dealership and has been waiting for diagnosis for over 3 weeks.
