    The contact owns a 2018 Ducati Panigale V4 S. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V570000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall was not repaired. The local dealer was notified of the issue; however, the recall repair was not performed because the contact had previously replaced the part. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted; however, the manufacturer agreed with the dealer and declined the repair. The failure mileage was 15,414.

  • 2015 DUCATI DIAVEL

    Hi [XXX] , Not sure if you are still working at NHTSA….. For what it’s worth, I finally diagnosed my ‘other’ 2015 Ducati with a failed spark plug wire (open circuit). This bike has about 5,000 miles, but has had the symptoms since about 1,000 miles (i.e., almost 10 years). So, Ducati is 2 for 2 in 2015 for bad spark plug wires. On ‘dual spark’ bikes (i.e., this one), having one failed wire is not a catastrophe; but very hard to diagnose. For my other 2015 bike (emails below) with only one wire per cylinder, it can lead to erratic engine response and fire while riding the bike. Not much fun. I’m a bit surprised that NHTSA seems to dismiss this so readily. It is also pretty clear that Ducati knows of the issue, but has not bothered to provide owners with any information / warnings. Sad. If you needed them, I could send you some “crispy” parts that burned (actuator for the exhaust flapper valve) and the bad wire. Turns out the culprit in this long ordeal was two spark plug wires slowly going bad. Unusual that a “Garage Queen” bike with 1,500 miles on it would have both plug wires go bad (open circuit) at almost the exact same time. Since the wires are a ‘dumb’ component, there were no ECU trouble codes or other indicators (except for the completely misleading ones) that identify this problem. With a partially ‘bad’ wire, a cylinder won’t spark, passing the gas directly into the hot exhaust….. where it burns, making the exhaust hot enough to ignite whatever might be nearby. “I authorize NHTSA to share my Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and other personally identifiable information in my complaint record with the manufacturer,” INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

  • 2019 DUCATI MONSTER 1200
    - Portland , OR

    Rear brake is sinking to the exhaust pipe and not stopping the motorcycle. The previous year motorcycle I currently own has been recalled for the rear brake hoses, but I am having the same problem with my 2019 Ducati Monster 1200. This is a safety hazard and I want to have my dealership fix this without charge.

  • 2025 DUCATI PANIGALE V4

    The contact owns a 2025 Ducati Panigale V4. The contact stated that there was an abnormal air sound coming from the brake pedal while depressed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V050000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 10.

  • 2025 DUCATI PANIGALE V4

    The contact owns a 2025 Ducati Panigale V4 Motorcycle. The contact stated that after parking and turning off the motorcycle, there was an abnormal odor coming from the motorcycle, and a boiling liquid sound was coming from the fuel tank. The contact removed the fuel tank cap and discovered boiling fuel inside the fuel tank. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The motorcycle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 400.

  • 2019 DUCATI MULTISTRADA

    2019 Ducati Multistrada MTS1200S. Bought brand new. The bike constantly stalls when pulling in the clutch coming to a stop. Bike is completely stock. No issues with air filter or fuel. The bike does it intermittently and has almost caused a couple of crashes on the highway when coming into traffic. Bike will stall in backed up traffic on the highway or coming to a red light, then cars behind start moving while traffic starts speeding up and I am having to get the bike restarted. Very dangerous. Not rideable.

    I am submitting this complaint to formally report repeated rear brake failures on my 2025 Ducati Panigale V4 which pose a serious safety hazard. The issue appears to be consistent with the defect described in NHTSA Campaign Number 25V013000 (Ducati Recall CR285 / SRV-RCL-25-001) involving excessive heat damage to the rear brake hose between the ABS control unit and the rear caliper. Incident Summary: Since purchasing the motorcycle in June 4,2025. have experienced three complete rear brake failures in less than two months, each occurring after warranty repairs: 1. 6/15/2025 – First ride after purchase: Rear brakes failed; smoke observed near exhaust. Returned to dealer (Moto Forza) on 6/17/2025. Dealer kept the bike for ~1 month for warranty repair related to brake line heat damage. 2. 7/19/2025 – Second occurrence: Rear brakes failed again. Returned for service. 3. 8/10/2025 – Third occurrence: Rear brakes failed completely, with blue/bronze discoloration of the rotor indicating excessive heat exposure. Returned to dealership This motorcycle has been out of service for over seven weeks since ownership. Manufacturer’s Response: Ducati’s regional representative has indicated verbally that my lowering of the motorcycle caused the brake failures and that I would not qualify for a manufacturer buyback. I dispute this claim for the following reasons: Lowering motorcycles is common and has not caused brake failures on any of the multiple bikes I’ve owned and lowered in my 9 years of riding experience. There is an active recall for the exact brake defect I am experiencing, which affects stock, unmodified 2025 Ducati Panigale V4 models. Multiple owners have reported repeated rear brake failures in unmodified bikes matching my model year and configuration. Ducati has not provided any written technical evidence to support their claim that lowering caused the defect.

    Rear brake becomes ineffective after a period of time. The brake becomes soft, spongy and does not work properly. I've had the dealer check the brakes, bleed them, replaced the fluid and it will work ok for a short time but then the problem returns. The pedal needs a lot of pressure to actuate the rear brake and eventually it doesn't really work at all.

    The motorcycle randomly stalls when beginning from a stop, adding throttle and then coming off the throttle. It isn't consistent and was very sporadic but today it happened 4 times. It's my understanding that this happens to others based on several posts on ducati.ms forums.

    Loss of front brake effectiveness due to failure of hose between front master cylinder and reservoir. Hose did not suffer impact damage or chafing. Failure was a split approximately 1" along the length of the hose.
