Brake switch for rear wheel that turns rear brake light on breaks easily causing brake light failure when rear brake is engaged.

I purchased the vehicle in May 2024, with 699 miles. Currently the motorcycle has only 720 miles on it. After buying the vehicle and before riding the bike, I called the local Ducati Dealership to inquire about any open recalls, and I was informed by the Mountain Motorsports Dealership that the last service was performed around 628 miles in 2021 and at that time a safety recall was performed, and the rear brake hose was replaced while under prior ownership and that no active recalls were in place. I took it into a local repair shop to have the oil changed and the bike serviced. After service, when the tech was test driving the vehicle the rear brake line failed and the brake fluid spilled while the technician was test driving the vehicle. It was a near miss, and it could have resulted in a fatal accident with oil spewing on the hot exhaust and possibly the road. I have sent an email to Ducati today and I am awaiting their response but felt it appropriate to report this incident as their was a safety recall, the repairs under the recall were performed and still I had the failure with a potentially very severe accident. Although there was no fire or injury, there was melted plastic and smoke. The repair shop is AOK Walker and the person driving the vehicle was Mr. Miles - 770-376-6078 (owner of the repair shop).

The engine stalls when coming to a stop pulling the clutch in. Yes, it is available for inspection. It has stalled several times in intersections which is a safety concern as I am concerned that I will get hit in an intersection. Yes, it has been reproduced. The service center at the dealerships claims that they have fixed it, and it keeps happening after we pick it up. It has not been inspected. No there is no warning prior to the malfunction.

Spontaneous rear brake failure!!! No leaks are seen and fluid reservoir is full. May be related to master cylinder. I will bring my motorcycle to the Ducati dealer next week for inspection/service.

The contact owns a 2018 Ducati XDiavel S. The contact stated that while riding at 55 MPH, he heard an abnormal sound coming from the rear of the motorcycle. After a visual inspection, the contact became aware that the drive belt was damaged in three places. No warning lights were illuminated. The motorcycle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The motorcycle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 6,000.

1. When pulling in the clutch approaching a stop sign or light, the engine RPM's drop down through idle and the bike stalls. 2. There is traffic behind me doesn't initially know the bike has stalled and starts to move forward. I have almost been hit several times. The same safety issues occurs when coming to a stop, as the bike may not restart immediately. I also have to take my attention away from the traffic in front of me to restart the engine. 3. I purchase the bike used and do not know if it was reviewed by a dealer. I have not done so. Ducati is well aware of this problem, as it has been known and reported by customers since 2015. 4. No warning is provided by the motorcycle. It just stops running.

The fuel tank of my Ducati V4 get very hot and the fuel inside start boiling, i discovered the issue when the motorcycle was stored in my garage after a ride, some noise was coming from the fuel tank, i opened the cap and i saw the fuel gurgling. I panicked and i put the motorcycle outside because, being the fuel very flammable, i was worried about a fire starting or even an explosion. The accident occurred at the end of the riding season here in Colorado, October 2023 more or less, since that period of time i didn't ride the motorcycle because i think that is dangerous to ride. Today, 03/28/2024 i was looking for a solution of the problem and i discovered that Ducati implemented a solution for the problem on Model Year 2024 applying a thermo-reflecting protection on the fuel tank consisting in three different parts numbers: part # 4601G941A QTY 1 price 40.63 USD part # 4601G951A QTY 1 price 40.63 USD part # 4601G961A QTY 1 price 40.63 USD I contacted Ducati to ask if they are planning to do a recall campaign to solve the issue on older motorcycles applying the thermo-reflecting protection on the fuel tank and they answered that it is only a running change in production only. Because in my opinion is a safety concern i decided to report it, also it is not fair that the customer is left with a defective fuel system when there is already a solution that the manufacturer acknowledged by introducing a design change. This issue is quite common all over the internet with a lot of people complaining about it, a lot of people solved it applying aftermarket thermo-reflecting mats at the cost of 185 USD. When the throttle is off, the revs go down to 0 then bounce back up to idle (most of the time anyway, if it doesn't stall). This happens when I am coming to a stop, downshifting to first/neutral. It is very distracting and with ambient road noise, if you are not paying attention, will catch you offguard and will leave you trying to restart bike while in traffic, cars beeping, and flying past you. very dangerous and needs to be check by Ducati. there are numerous others with the same situation.

Rear brake does not work. pedal bottoms out with no braking action unless pumped rapidly.

After 4000 miles the vehicle developed a severe"Stumbling" or misfiring like behavior. It was taken to one dealer and the charcoal canister of the evaporative emission system was full of fuel. The factory technician was unable to repair the problem and it was taken to another dealer where the emission system was replaced. The problem has been undiagnosed and still continues and makes the vehicle un rideable and unsafe. Ducati has been negligent and providing a solution to the problem and I feel the vehicle is unsafe to ride due to the fact of the inconsistent throttle making it unmanageable and I believe there is potential for a fire risk due to the excess fuel being dumped into the system. I can intermittently smell raw fuel and believe there may be a fire risk as well. Several attempts have been taken to have it diagnosed at two different dealers and Ducati has been unresponsive as to any personal request for assistance.
