The contact owns a 2022 Dutchmen Coleman Lantern RV. The contact stated that while his wife and niece were sleeping, the smoke alarm detector engaged. The vehicle occupants then noticed that the RV was on fire and immediately exited the RV. Other campers and the camping site workers extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher. The contact stated that the A/C vents had burnt. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but the contact's request to trade the vehicle in was denied. The manufacturer covered the A/C system wiring replacement and repair. The contact stated that the A/C system became inoperable approximately 4 months later. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the A/C system was repaired. The contact stated that while loading the camper for a camping trip, the contact's wife noticed black smoke and big flames coming from the A/C. The fire was extinguished by the fire department. A police report was filed. The contact stated that the RV burned to the ground and might be a total loss. There were no reported injuries. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the recent fire incident. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact owns a 2021 Keystone Dutchmen Voltage. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the camper was flexing from left to right about 4 inches independent off the tow link. No warning lights were illuminated. The RV was taken to an independent mechanic, who observed that the fasteners used to secure the frame to chassis were missing on the front end and the contact was advised to not operate the RV. The contact was informed that the fasteners were never installed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2022 Dutchman Kodiak. The contact stated that during a rainstorm, there was rainwater leaking into the RV from the walls of the RV onto the fuse box. The contact was concerned about it being a fire hazard. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. upon return trip home from camping seemed like trailer was riding lower than normal and swaying more. looked under trailer and leaf springs were flat. This could have resulted in broken spring which could lead to crash. The trailer was not overloaded. sticker on side of trailer shows dry weight is 4360lbs, GVWR is 5500, GAWR is 5100. inspection shows label on axle is 4400 lbs and each leaf spring is 2200 lbs. We do not travel with tanks filled. we did not have anywhere near 5500 in trailer total weight. Dealership says the axle is correct rating for trailer as it is calculated to be 80% of 5500 on axle and 20% on tongue. Why is the GAWR (axle rating) on the sticker listed at 5100? The axle/springs should be rated to 5100 if that is what is printed on sticker. I am forced to "upgrade" or replace springs out of pocket. Had I known the axle could only support 4400, I would have purchased something different. I feel mislead by the "official label" that they used to advertise the weights.

The trailer fresh water tank fell out bottom of the trailer. The water tank is at the rear of the trailer. The tank fell down and the only thing that kept it from falling totally out was the trailer electrical wiring that it caught on. If it had fallen out completely on a major highway in heavy traffic I'm sure someone might have gotten injured trying to avoid it. I have not taken the trailer to a dealer for inspection nor gas the manufacturer inspected it. I reinstalled the tank myself and it is not going to fall out again. The tank was not secured correctly at time of manufacturer, It had 3 cross braces under it and they were installed with self drilling screws to the frame on both sides. These screws are about 1/4" in diameter a total of 12 screws in all. Of the 12 screws 8 had sheared off the heads and the braces fell out. I don't think that my trailer is the only one manufactured this way and there may be others that have had this problem. the braces should have been through which is what I have done to secure. I called the manufacturer and ask them if they had encountered this problem and they said they had not. The contact owns a 2022 Dutchmen Yukon equipped with Durun Tires, Tire Line: YTH4 tires, Tire Size: 215/17/R17.5) (NA), DOT Number: 041ABH4DR. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH there was an abnormal popping sound coming from the rear end of the camper. The contact noticed that the rear passenger’s side tire had experienced a blowout. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and had Roadside Assistance replace the tire with the spare. The failure reoccurred several miles later with the tire on the passenger’s side. The contact stated that the spare tire also had a blowout. The failure reoccurred on the driver’s side rear tire. The contact had Roadside Assistance replace the tires each time. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200.

The contact owns a 2007 Four Winds RV built on a 2006 Ford E-450 Chassis. The contact stated that upon refueling the vehicle, he noticed a pool of approximately 3 gallons of fuel that had leaked onto the ground. An independent mechanic completed an unknown diagnostic test. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 06E056000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
