The Water Pump in my 2011 Ford Edge failed causing catastrophic engine failure. The failure occurred while I was driving on the highway and I lost my power steering and brakes. The engine was inspected at a private service center where I was told that the water pump had caused the engine to seize and the vehicle would need a new engine. Prior to the failure, there were no warning messages or symptoms.

The backup camera displays upside down. Also, There is a clunk noise coming from the front end when you put in gear. Seems to be a common problem when you Google.

The driver door actuator is a serious problem and malfunctions putting my children at risk. I am unable to lock the vehicle doors because even though I close the driver door the car thinks my door is open when its actually closed also I am unable to enable my alarm system when this happens because again the car thinks the driver door is open when in fact its closed. I had an electrical mechanic look at it yesterday 4/22/22 and there seems to be many people having the same issue. I close the driver door and even though the drivers door is closed on the dash board it reads driver door ajar which is a serious safety issue to my children/passengers and possible theft of my vehicle.

When closing my front passenger door, the door ajar light remains on. With this, my doors will not lock creating a potentially dangerous situation where a person could open my doors if I’m driving. I either have to repeatedly slam the door until it closes or just leave it as is, but as stated my doors will not lock. I do not want the risk of having someone opening my doors while I’m inside, have young children open the door while in drive, or have someone break into my car.

Vehicle turned off completely while driving without notice. Lost all power, power steering, etc. Had to pull off to side of road. Once car was placed in park position, all lights came back on and I was able to start the vehicle again like nothing had happened. Very dangerous situation.

While conducting an at-home SYNC2 software update to version 3.10 via a properly formatted USB flash drive, the component that failed was the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) resulting in the vehicle's entire Infotainment software, the back-up camera, GPS, Bluetooth, Radio, Climate Controls, essentially all functions through the center touch screen to completely stop functioning. Roughly half way through the SYNC2 update which consisted of having the vehicle in an engine-on idle-state as required by Ford, the center touch screen displaying the update progress bar faded to black and ambient lights were lost. Ford claims that this at-home update could take anywhere from 45-60 minutes. I allotted 90 minutes for the update to complete its processes thinking the screen going black was normal during this update. After realizing the screen didn't come back on after a long while, I knew a bigger problem existed. The vehicle has been inspected by technicians at a local Ford dealership and their conclusion was to spend $1,888 plus labor and taxes to replace the APIM. I do not agree with Ford and their conclusion on this incident given that I had shared the reason as to how this occurred in the first place. No warning was given or error code provided during the day of the incident. I followed Ford's directions for an at-home update and now as a result, my vehicle is not fully functional and Ford is making me pay for it.

I own a 2011 Ford Edge that has a reoccurring door latch issue. This is a well known issue with certain Ford Edge years. The door latches are defective and malfunction, causing a "door ajar" dash warning light and the interior lights come on. We have had all 4 door latches replaced, but I currently have one malfunctioning again. The last one I had replaced in 2018 was not covered under warranty, and cost me $350. I spoke with Ford and they refuse to reimburse me. My daughter currently drives this car. It is unsafe when the interior lights come on at night when driving due to this issue. Ford should step up and recall these models with this problem.
