2011 FORD EDGE Complaints

Twice now, while driving the brake pedal went all the way to the floor. I had to release pedal and hit them again for the car to stop. Thankfully I did'nt hit anyone. The Ford Edge I drive has all new brakes on it, and this happened before I had the brakes done and after. I check online and found many ford edge owners with the same problem. Its "not" the brake booster, that would be a pedal thats hard to push, I got to believe its a problem with a seal in the master cylinder. I understand Ford is aware of this. Maybe a kick in the pants from the NHTSA will get them to fix this before somebody gets killed. I'm just glad some kid did'nt jump out in front of my car went it happened to me!

The brake booster for my vehicle was starting to decline and make it harder for me to stop my car. When driving my vehicle my brake pedal became very hard to push. While trying to stop it took longer to stop the vehicle from hitting any car in front of me. Problem has been confirmed by servicing dealership. Only been inspected by the folks at the dealership. There were no indications or warnings that the brake booster was going bad. There was an Extended Warranty Coverage issued by Ford in 2014. The campaign was 13N02 My warranty start date was December 2010. The extended coverage was 150,000 miles or 10 yrs from warranty start date. That puts me 8 months past the coverage period, but my vehicle only has 134,000 miles to date. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Brake pedal is hard & won't stop vehicle & then goes soft. Has to be pressed to the floor to stop, also makes a high pitched squeal when pushed sometimes.

Brakes become hard and then soft. Brake has to be depressed to the floor to stop vehicle. Master Cylinder replaced, Brake booster replaced. Problem is not solved. ABS is the next guess. With all the problems with brakes why isn't Ford taking care of this issue?

The brake pedal goes from easy to press to hard to press and the car keeps moving even when the brakes are depressed.

Brakes got hard and went to the floor..almost crashed because brakes got hard and didn't stop the vehicle. Faulty brake booster..! Ford needs to recall these!

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving, the brake pedal had to be fully depressed before the brakes would engage. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed but not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 204,504.

The “Vista” sunroof on my car is stuck open. This allows rain to come into my car providing hazardous driving conditions. The Ford dealer wants $4000 to repair & $500 to close. I’ve asked Ford several times for a detailed breakdown of costs, they have not provided anything to date.

No brake or ABS warning light. Brake pedal fades to floor with no braking until all the way at the floor. Almost rear ended car in front of me at red light. Problem is ABS module. Major safety issue.

Door ajar warning even though the door is closed. Doors will not lock and interior lights remain on.
