2008 FORD EDGE- Fowlerville, MI
The contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact stated that the vehicle had been misfiring. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with failed programmable module installation (PMI) that needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the PMI had experienced the failure for a second time. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

2008 FORD EDGE- Round Rock, TX
The contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle started to jerk, and the contact became aware of a burning odor. The contact pulled over off the roadway. The check engine warning light intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the water pump had failed. The water pump was replaced however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the brakes had failed and needed to be replaced; however, the failure recurred. The check engine warning light illuminated, and the low oil pressure warning light illuminated. The contact stated that after a week, the failure recurred, and the vehicle failed to shift into the intended gear. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle hesitated and stalled. The vehicle was towed to the independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the engine failed and needed to be replaced. Additionally, the contact stated that she was informed by the dealer of the NHTSA Campaign Number 14V682000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while his son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the front driver's side wheel hub fractured, and the wheel detached. The driver was able to veer to the side of the road, where the vehicle remained. The contact stated that the failure had previously occurred with the front driver's side wheel hub, and all four of the service wheel hub spindles had been replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 229,703.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number 21V158000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced the failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. The contact stated while approaching a stop sign, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled without warning. The contact was able to pull over on the side of the road, but the vehicle would not restart. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing, but no failure was found. The contact stated that the failure persisted. On another occasion, while driving, the vehicle experienced hard shifting to 2nd gear and a delay in upshifting to the next gear. The manufacturer was contacted and stated there was no recall on the vehicle for the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. The contact stated after refueling the vehicle, once he parked the vehicle in the garage, he smelled a strong odor of gasoline coming from the vehicle. The contact looked underneath the vehicle and became aware of a fuel leak. The vehicle was not diagnosed.
