2012 FORD EDGE Complaints

The ABS light comes on, Increased braking distance, Brake pedal is very stiff, Fluid leaking from the master cylinder, and Engine stalls when braking.

Seen on the internet where there was a recall for a brake booster....checking to see if mine can be fixed or has it already been fixed.....

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle did not stop as intended. The contact stated that the brake pedal had to be depressed hard to stop the vehicle. In addition, the contact stated that the brake pedal made a squealing sound while depressed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with brake booster failure. The contact was informed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was informed about Customer Satisfaction Program: 13N02; however, the contact was informed that the VIN was not included. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 124,500.

The issue is my 2012 Ford Edge passenger seat door ajar sensor. The car alarm has been going off all day and in the middle of the night and now the car battery is dead, I've researched this an their are many other consumers that have been having the same issue with 2011 & 2012 Ford Edge vehicles. Why hasn't there been a recall from Ford regarding this? I have not taken this in to be inspected. I understand that the cost for the replacement sensor unit and labor can be $400 - $600. I will try to disconnect the sensor myself and avoid this cost. Now it will be a safety issue. Please encourage Ford to issue a recall on this. Thank you

The door latch system is malfunctioning. The passenger side door will be closed but the light comes on that the door is open or ajar. This is a safety concern. I believe the door to be closed all the way but what if it's not and it opens while driving. I'm not sure if it is just a sensor or the door latch system is not working correctly.

My 2012 Ford Edge has always had an issue with its brakes. I put new ones on and then the ABS system goes haywire and kicks in making the car feel like the brakes are constantly engaged. The car has also stopped in the middle of the road by it self with no warning. The brake pedal at times is squishy as well. I have it at a Ford dealership now to get it fixed I have to purchase a new ABS unit and modular. These parts are on indefinite back order per the dealership. I cannot be without a car for months on end but I dare not drive it because it is a safety hazard with unpredictable braking. My son drives this car and I do not want him involved in an accident related to this faulty brake system. Ford should recall this issue and correct it before someone dies in an accident. This dealership does not offer a loaner car like other car manufacturers do which is disgraceful when it is their product that is faulty and on back order. Since my son needs this car ASAP I may have to resort to buying the parts off of the internet.

I was t-boned in the intersection of [XXX] and [XXX] in Washington, Utah on [XXX]. The airbags did not deploy in my vehicle. I was not injured or receive medical care. I experienced spongy pedal that went to the floor, no brake light or abs light came on, no leaks. I was driving my wife's edge and hit the brakes to make a left hand turn. When I did the the brake pedal went straight to the floor! It showed some stopping power but not enough to actually stop the car without having a good amount of distance. I shut off the car, turned it back on and the brakes were fine. It happened again!

My brakes are going all the way to the floor just every once in a while, but wow, my vehicle is in park and running, my traction control light comes on the only way to get it off. Is to turn the ignition off and back on.

Wow, vehicle is in park and idling. My traction control light comes on then my brakes go all the way to the floor. It has done about six times so far.
