2022 FORD ESCAPE Complaints

I was in a minor accident involving a small animal on [XXX] and there was not much damage done to it. After it got repaired a few months later the steering wheel started locking up on me so I had it towed down to Bob Johnson Ford in Pulaski NY. They couldn't diagnose the issue and said I was safe to drive it home. On the way home the steering wheel locked up while exiting the highway and caused me to run into a guard rail. (XXX) After it got repaired I thought it was fixed but months later it started locking up again. On [XXX] had it towed to Wally's ford in Adams ny. They also have not been able to diagnose the issue. I am trying to get Ford to buy back the car but they say it's outside the lemon law and to see if the insurance company can do anything about it. Ford and USAA both told me to not drive the vehicle but neither of them will give me a rental car. So I'm stuck between companies and have nothing to drive. Please help. When backing up, the brakes and going forward to stop, the brakes are making a loud, moaning sound. When trying to stop, the brakes are "grabbing," making a rubbing, friction type sound as well, causing me to have to pump the brakes to stop the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Escape. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the EVAP ejector and the purge valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,800.

There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to several dealers where it was acknowledged that the failure was a known issue; however, there was no remedy for the issue. The power window switches have a chrome trim piece that has cracked causing a severe cut hazard. This was an issue in 2020 models that was addressed but is still present in my 2022 model.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the shock absorbers were leaking and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000.

The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle briefly hesitated and was sluggish before returning to normal functionality. Driver's side seat: I use heated seat at times along with a/c to help my lower back pain. On [XXX] I was using it. I moved my right leg as I was driving with cruise control and I felt some skin tear off of the back of my thigh. Of course, it hurt and I immediately put my hand down and the seat was ridiculously hot! I had to keep my hand cupped underneath as I pulled off on the next exit. My daughter, [XXX] , was with me to witness this. She took pics in the gas station bathroom. I had 3 blisters total and 1 had ripped open with the skin hanging on the side. I have diabetes and diabetic neuropathy. Not a good combination with a defective heated seat that overheats to the point of blisters! The driver seat pokes at my tailbone and nobody can seem to find the fix for this. There is a whole forum with so many complaints about the same issue. I have had it looked at several times and put a block of wood on my seat trying to avoid the excruciating pain this seat causes me after driving for an extended period of time. I have spent a lot of money and gone to incredible lengths trying to resolve this issue and nothing works. I bought a new seat base, and a new replacement cushion as well as an additional gel cushion which I fold in half so it is double the thickness. Nothing works and I see so many in the same desperate situation. It is one particular seat base (escape 2020 - 2022) where all of the complaints for this are.

Hello, just as the drivers side door is suffering from poor welds, we believe the driver side door is well and suspect to all four doors. We are hearing rattling in the Door when opening and closing. It definitely matches other descriptions of issue in the drivers door.
