May 31.2023 I was involved in an accident your left front wheel Castor and wheel . Separated from vehicle. Causing me to crash into a light pole.in the east bound lane when I was going west bound on Franklin rd in Boise id Knocking me unconscious idaho state police made report. Before accident left front wheel pulled left when braking gave car gas car pull right last thing I remember. EMT took Alfonso's hospital. As investigate because I was almost killed lucky I survive.

2014 Ford Escape titanium that has been having issues with coolant leaks and overheating. The first instance was in Dec 2022. The vehicle stalled while it was being driven at about 25-30 mph. The vehicle said that the coolant levels were low and the cars Engine heat level shot up. Checked the coolant level and it was full as I recently changed the oil and topped everything off. I towed it to Cortese Ford dealership in Henrietta and a appointment was set for about 4 days later. They said the issue was that the car was leaking coolant somewhere but they can’t find where, so our options were A.) use a pump process where they would pump air into the coolant system and see where the leak is or B.) reroute the entire coolant system and see if that resolves the issue. So I went with option B because it was the cheaper option and it costed about $996 dallors. About 3 months later the same issue occurred, car stalled, engines heat gage shot up but this time the coolant level was low even after a top off. I added coolant and the car came back but I still called Cortese to see if there was a bigger issue. Appoint was set for 5 days later and we took it there. They came back and said the issue was that one of the main heater hose was cracked and was leaking coolant, and that costed another $1000 to fix. Finally last Thursday, the car wouldn’t start up, the dashboard was saying the cars Engine was overheating and couldn’t be started. So I waited an hour later and tried to start it again, and it said the same thing. I drove it down to a local auto shop even with the warning to get it checked out. The mechanic checked the cars codes and we had 7 codes pop up. They were P0116, P050A, P050B, P050E, and P1299 and to my understand they all have to do with Temperature and overheating

My daughter was backing out of driveway and said the steering was difficult to turn and felt locked. The steering assist fault came up on screen. She parked car and didn’t drive. My husband tried backing out of driveway as well and said the steering was hard to turn. He then put it in park and tried again and it drove fine.

On May 27, 2023, I took my Ford Escape SE to dealership for service (mileage: 99742). I had Works Synthetic Oil Change, Mutli-point inspection, rotation of tires, coolant system cleaning, brake systems fluid exchange, spark plugs replaced, air filter replaced. Diagnostic for A/C. Total cost: $1005.90. Results from service: (1) Emergency flasher or hazard light button does not work. $199.95 Diagnostic fee to repair flasher/hazard light button. Due to cost of Diagnostic fee, repair to Emergency flasher or hazard light button was not conducted. (2) AC not working. Diagnostic Fee $199.95. AC leakage. Repair parts, YN*19* Refrigera10009G and BV6Z*19850*B Evaporato22105B cost $486.96 and labor fee 2150.00 + tax $171.40. Total Cost: $2808.36. Due to total cost, repair to AC was not conducted. (3) When replacing the spark plugs, oil was found in the valleys of the spark plugs. Unsure if the valve cover or something else that pertains to it is damaged or some other type of issues. Due to cost of diagnostic test ($199.00), service was not conduct.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated that after driving, there was an abnormal knocking sound detected. The contact became aware that the lug nuts were loosened. While driving at an unknown speed, the wheel detached. The contact stated that the studs had sheared off. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the wheel bearings needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not contacted or informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact’s mother owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact received notification of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train) however, the contact stated that upon taking the vehicle for the recall repair, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the speedometer failed to display an accurate reading and remained at 0. Several unknown warning lights started flashing. The contact then stated that the electrical system started to malfunction, and the warning lights remained illuminated. The contact stated that he veered off the road to park the vehicle and then had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed by the mechanic that the diagnostic result indicated several unknown failures, and it was suggested that the vehicle be taken to the dealer for assistance. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the ABS, the ABS module, and the battery voltage had failed. The vehicle had not yet been repaired and remained with the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000.

To: HTSA: We believe that our 2014 Ford Escape motor vehicle has a mechanical defect that caused it to catch fire while driving on the highway with our family inside. We are alive because another driver reported the fire in the car and we stopped and got out at the exact time before the car burned to the ground. We have a 22S43 Safety Campaign Notice for that vehicle. We are notifying you of what happened because we understand that the reason the vehicle caught fire was due to a mechanical malfunction that caused that horrible and shocking event, putting life safety at risk. So far we have not had support from anyone. We have lost our property and risked our lives by being the user of a defective Ford vehicle that placed our lives at imminent risk of death. The incident occurred on 04/02/2023 on street 2 km 203.1 Guayanilla Puerto Rico. I request your prompt attention in this matter so that you can investigate what is related to safety and the damage that caused this fire to burn the vehicle.

The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle experienced a loss of power steering with the power steering assist fault warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he was able to continue driving; however, the steering wheel was difficult to turn. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering rack assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.

Back up camera at times is showing upside down view, sometime squiggle lines, and sometime a message that reads camera not available. I have become used to using the camera and rely on it for backing up in in parking lots and such. I grew up using the mirrors and can still do that but the camera give extra security. My vehicle has about 78,000.00 , the camera should not be acting up. I have taken it to the local dealer and got a large quote to replace it. I did see on the news last night about a recall on this issue, but my year model was not included. This started about eight months ago. I had no idea I could file a complaint until today after calling Ford directly and being transferred to National Highway Safety Division. I am always available if someone want to inspect my vehicle. I don't drive much, as you can tell a 2014 with 78,000 miles, but when I do i like to feel like I can rely on the safety features of my vehicle.,

The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in a recall and transferred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.
