2015 FORD F-150- Arlington, TX
For the past several weeks, I have experienced an ongoing issue with my truck’s transmission shifting unpredictably. At random times, it becomes stuck in third gear, and while driving it has downshifted from fifth to third and then to first without warning. Even when stopped at a red light, the vehicle will sometimes remain in third gear. These incidents have created multiple safety concerns while driving and stopping. On 05/11/2026, my truck stopped completely in the middle of the road; fortunately, other drivers were able to stop and I was not hit, but I am concerned it is only a matter of time before a serious accident occurs. I also recently received a recall notice, which I was not expecting, and I had assumed this repair would be an out-of-pocket expense. I have contacted Ford regarding the recall repair, but I was advised they do not anticipate a remedy until July. Waiting several more months to drive a vehicle with ongoing drivetrain and downshifting problems feels unreasonable, and I am also concerned the condition may be causing additional damage to the transmission.

I am submitting this complaint regarding Ford Recall 26S28 involving my 2015 Ford F-150. Ford has acknowledged a defect serious enough to issue a formal safety recall; however, there is currently no repair remedy available and no clear timeline for when repairs will be completed. As a result, affected owners are left operating vehicles with an acknowledged defect or are left without reliable transportation for an indefinite period of time. I contacted Ford Motor Company and requested interim transportation assistance or a temporary loaner vehicle while awaiting an approved repair solution. Ford denied this request, stating that my vehicle is outside warranty coverage due to age and mileage. Ford also advised that customers should retain receipts in case a reimbursement program becomes available in the future. My concern is that this situation places consumers in an unreasonable position. Although Ford has acknowledged the defect through a federal recall, owners are expected to absorb transportation costs indefinitely while no remedy currently exists. The issue is directly related to the recall condition, not ordinary warranty coverage or routine maintenance. I believe this situation raises concerns regarding the adequacy and timeliness of Ford’s response to Recall 26S28 and the hardship imposed on affected consumers during the unresolved recall period. I respectfully request that NHTSA review the handling of this recall, including the lack of available remedies, absence of repair timelines, and lack of interim consumer assistance for affected vehicle owners.

2015 FORD F-150- LAKELAND, FL
The truck often shifts from 6th gear down to 1st or second gear, sometimes at highway speeds and all warning light come on. It sometimes resolved itself upon starting it again, but seems to affect the throttle body. When the electrical system resets, you can hear a click from the throttle body indicating that the valve reset when the computer reset. We also have been affected by intense suffering from the transmission that started about the same time, around 2019 and just over 100,000 miles, after the warranty expired. Both the limp mode and shuddering seem to be results of the TRS signal. I have replaced the battery and throttle body (that repair was first suspected to be the sensor) at Lakeland Ford, then later at Midas in north Lakeland I had work done to the wheel mounts and other axle/wheel relate repairs. In total we have spent approximately $4000 on repairs caused by the improper TRS signal. In addition, we have had at least 4 near accidents caused by the faulty signature. I called Ford with no solution, such as a loaner very, for safety before the recall can be fixed.

2015 FORD F-150- NEWARK, OH
In the Fall of 2024 we started having trouble with our F150 Ford Truck's transmission. It would drop gears, even from 6th gear to 1st gear, as the recall has stated, so we took it to someone who specifically deals with transmissions, and he stated that the truck was throwing a code that shows that the transmission shift module or sensor was bad. He told us to check with Ford to see if there were any recalls and Ford told us that there were not. We had the sensor replaced, which cost us over $900, back in December of 2024. Well, the transmission continued to slip from 3rd to 4th gears constantly and would only occasionally drop gears, but is continuing to do so on a regular basis. We took the truck back to the transmission garage and he stated it would cost $5000 to rebuild the transmission. We have tried to call the Ford recall line, but just hangs up after giving us the same information the recall letter told us. So we have no one to report that we are having the issues we are having. So are we to continue to drive a truck that possibly could cause an accident on the highway or is there another solution to this problem other than waiting on Ford to come up with a fix possibly in July? Thank you, [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
