I haven’t been in an incident yet with this recall. But I contacted ford today to let them know my truck shifted down to 3rd gear from 5th gear. I informed them that when I entered my vin on the ford web site that my truck came up for a recall and that I contacted a local ford dealer and they said they couldn’t do anything for me because the remedy wouldn’t be out till July 1. My truck is showing a wrench symbol after it shifted down and then it disappears. I told for this is my only transportation vehicle and that I can’t just go buy a new one. They said they aren’t releasing anymore information at the time and they aren’t offering rental vehicles to people with this problem but they aren’t telling people to not drive their vehicles either. I said what happens if I continue to drive my vehicle and it causes me to wreck. They said they couldn’t give me any information.

While accelerating on a green light, vehicle shifted down to a crawl. Truck had an abrupt reduction in speed and was difficult to get vehicle to a safe place to stop. Traffic was heavy and dangerous, trying to get truck off roadway was very difficult. I had to park in a no parking zone to allow traffic to continue. The wrench warning lamp symbol did come on, and warning hill climbing is not possible. The roadway was flat, straight with no incline at all, and clear for easy traffic movement. It was sunny afternoon. I shut truck off and checked underneath vehicle. After 10 minutes, I restarted vehicle and warning lamp was off and truck operated properly.
