2013 FORD F-150- Perryville, MO
Trying to take off from a parking spot the truck would not shift from first gear. The exact same thing has happened about four or five more time since the first always in the same manner. One time it shifted into third gear and stuck there. When this happens the dash cluster does not read anything. it just shows what gear it is in. No rpm, no speed.

2013 FORD F-150- Winterville, NC
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted from 5th gear to 3rd gear. The contact stated that occasionally, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. In addition, the instrument cluster had displayed a black screen. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed molded lead frame control module. The contact was informed that the molded lead frame control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under recall or special programs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 156,000.

2013 FORD F-150- Wayne, MI
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated after an independent mechanic had performed the water pump replacement, the mechanic informed the contact that the vehicle was experiencing transmission failure. The mechanic referred the contact to the dealer for a diagnostic test. Additionally, the contact stated that upon driving the vehicle for an extended time, the engine warmed up, and the odometer turned blank. Additionally, the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed of Technical Service Bulletin Number: 13-4-9. The contact was advised that the vehicle was not covered under the TSB because the vehicle was out of warranty. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving the transmission would randomly downshift into 1st gear causing the vehicle to abruptly reduce speeds. Also, the speedometer had intermittently malfunctioned and did not properly display. The cause of the failures was not yet determined. The manufacturer was contacted and informed that the vehicle was previously serviced under the NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced that same failure listed in the recall. The local dealer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 110,000.

2013 FORD F-150- Beacon Falls, CT
Due to an unresolved issue that Ford motor company is aware of with the Transmission “Molded Lead Frame” the truck will drop down into 1st gear from highway speeds and causes a huge safety concern if there should be someone traveling behind me. The speedometer will stop working as well as the mileage will disappear off the screen/all other information will go blank. I will have to stop the truck, turn it off and back on again and it will drive normal. When I bring to dealer; they state ford should be covering this issue: when I contact ford I am offered no assistance or remedies. They referred me to bring this safety issue to your attention. It is very concerning and I cannot afford another car at the moment.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted to first gear. No warning light was illuminated; however, the icons on the instrument panel became dark. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the lead frame wiring harness needed to be replaced. The contact researched and became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V433000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at 55 MPH the wrench symbol illuminated and the vehicle lost motive power and went into LIMP Mode. The contact coasted to the side of the road and turned off and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle returned to normal functionality. The failure occurred a total of three times; however, during the third failure, the check engine light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the output speed sensor module had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact of an undisclosed Customer Satisfaction Program however, the 10-year limitation had been exceeded. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer transferred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 147,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 MPH in 6th gear, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted to 1st gear and immediately decelerated. The contact was able to control the vehicle and parked on the side of the road to inspect the vehicle. The contact could not identify the cause for the failure. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drive the vehicle to the residence. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the vehicle was not covered under the CSP. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure.
