2023 FORD F-150 Complaints

The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked abnormally while downshifting while depressing the brake pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions and the failure was acknowledged; however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle remained with the dealer for over a month before the vehicle was returned. The contact stated that the failure had worsened upon retrieving the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

Passenger side rear axle bolt broken. Ford has issued a recall on earlier vehicles, but they still have not created a permanent fix and it is happening to the 2023 models as well

When driving my truck using adaptive speed control my vehicle reacts as it should to speed limit signs until it sees any sign with the number 80 on it, e.g.- state hwy 80. As soon as it reads the number 80 the number 80mph shows on the dash speedometer and the truck immediately accelerates to 80 mph! This happens no matter what speed zone you are in, even a school zone! I contacted Ford Motor Company and they referred me to my local dealership. The Dealership RAPIDS FORD said they knew of the problem because one of their managers had the same issue with his loaner vehicle. They said they contacted Ford and the Ford tech told him he should shut off the adaptive speed control when it happens???? I don't believe this is a viable solution because you never know when it is going to happen. This will happen anytime it sees the number 80 Whether you are in a 25mph, a 55 mph, or any speed zone. this is a very DANGEROUS situation for both occupants and pedestrians. I was recently on an hour-long phone call with Ford vehicle technology assist and they insisted I find my own solution by going to my local dealerships. I know for sure this condition affects at least two, but more than likely tens of thousands of vehicles. Please look into this before somebody gets killed. I can tell that Ford is not going to. This problem showed up repeatedly because state hwy 80 was detoured through and around my town. These are highway signage not speed limit signage. They do not look alike.

Using the 1 pedal drive mode, I was entering my driveway, which is 90 degrees adjacent to the street I was on. My approximate speed entering the driveway was 2 MPH. As I was finishing the turn and almost straightened out, my hand accidently glazed over and engaged the cruise control button. My truck lurched forward and started to accelerate towards the garage door. I quickly stepped on the brake and the truck came to rest mere inches from the garage door. I believe the speed it was trying to accelerate to was 15 MPH when I had looked down at the dash. This is a big safety hazard. I have tried to recreate it and cruise control wont engage on slow speeds. I'm not sure why this occasion was different.

While driving my 2023 Ford F-150 on the freeway, the sunroof spontaneously shattered without warning. The failure occurred at highway speeds, producing a loud gunshot-like sound that startled me. The glass broke in an upward trajectory, which is inconsistent with the possibility of an external object, such as a rock, causing the damage. There were no other vehicles around me at the time, and no debris struck the windshield or surrounding areas. The shattered sunroof remains available for inspection upon request. The safety of myself and others was put at significant risk. Shattered glass could have fallen into the cabin while I was driving, potentially causing injuries or a distraction that might lead to an accident. Minutes prior to the incident, I had two young children under three years old in the vehicle, heightening my concern about the severity of this issue. Thankfully, they were not present when the sunroof shattered. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, but I did bring the vehicle to the dealership where I purchased it. The dealership, after consulting with Ford corporate, denied warranty coverage and suggested the damage was caused by a rock. This conclusion does not align with the circumstances or the nature of the damage. Neither the manufacturer nor any independent service center has inspected the sunroof further for potential defects. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the incident. This failure was entirely sudden and unexpected. Based on my research, spontaneous sunroof shattering is a documented issue that has occurred in similar vehicles, often attributed to defective tempered glass or thermal stress. I believe this incident is the result of a manufacturing defect in the sunroof glass.

Intended breaking at Highway speeds. On [XXX] in PA and [XXX] in PA and MD. On several occasions the adaptive speed control dramatically slowed the vehicle for no apparent reason. The dash showed a speed limit change when there was no sign indicating a change. Several times the change was from 65+mph to 35 mph. I have a 2023 Ford F-150 that has experienced a fatigue fracture failure to the drivers side axle bolt exactly as described in recall 23S65. [XXX] My truck has 18,000 miles, and I noticed unusual noise while driving at low speed. I removed the separated axle bolt segment from within my wheel, and I continue to experience a squealing noise while lightly accelerating and braking. This failure can lead to sudden loss of acceleration or vehicles rolling away while parked. Symptoms can be subtle and often go unnoticed for significant durations of time and miles driven. Recall 23S65 does not include my VIN as my truck was built in February 2023, and the recall coverage terminates for trucks built in December 2022. I inquired with Ford's recall service line and they are unwilling to consider expanding the recall, and they recommended that I instead file a complaint with NHTSA. I believe that more trucks built after December 2022 are impacted by this defective axle design and I want to ensure eligibility for redesigned parts is accordingly extended. 2019 F150 Backup camera doesn't work. Ford recalled some 2019 F150's but not mine. I've noticed they are having a huge issue with backup cameras and was also told the same by the dealership. Seems as like they should be responsible for fixing mine too. 2019 Supercab door locks freeze. Ford fixed under a recall. The recall worked for a year. Called dealer back last year Ford won't fix it again. It's obviously a manufacturer defect that wasn't fixed correctly on the recall. Seems crazy that I have to pay them to fix it again. The lock freezes open and you can't lock the door. It will open while driving.

My truck jumps/lurches forward after coming to a complete stop, despite the brake pedal being applied. It almost feels like I’m being rear ended. Very scary at first. It happens a few seconds after I come to a complete stop, and every time I stop. Doesn’t happen if I don’t come to a full stop.
