2011 FORD F-150- Schertz, TX
While in a parking lot I started the engine and put it in gear with my foot on the brake. After a moment or 2 the RPM came up and the tires were squealing. I then shifted to neutral and the RPM slowed. I then shifted to drive and drove to an exit. While waiting for a break in traffic with my foot on the brake the same thing happened. The RPM came up and the rear tires were trying to spin. I shifted to neutral until I could move, and shifted to drive and joined the traffic. There was no problems with speed control while driving in traffic.

3.5L EcoBoost. Exhaust manifold bolts brake or come loose. Resulting in warped exhaust manifold. Loss of power. On highway going 60 miles an hour when lost power and resulted in speed down to 30-20, and nowhere I could pull off Highway to emergency lane. Was basically stranded. Took the vehicle into Ford dealership in Roseburg Oregon July 16 2021 where they told me that it was an exhaust manifold which had been already done the year prior 2019 at a cost of $1200. This time it will cost $2500. There were no warning lights or advanced notice of any problem. We were going up an incline on interstate 5 and it was like somebody turned the key off Lost power and overheated.

The truck will go from gear 6 to gear 1 and I lose all power. I've almost been in a wreck multiple times. I entered my vin and it shows no recalls on my truck but when I tried looking up what's going on with it I seen a recall regarding the exact same thing. Idk if it's because it's Canadian or why.

Going down the road at 55 mph, and the truck went down to first gear, wouldn't show my speed, then wouldn't come out of 3rd gear.

Tried to apply the brakes and the brake pedal went to the floor without actuating the brakes. This happened suddenly and with no warning of any kind prior to the failure. I had to use the parking brake to bring the vehicle to a stop. The "BRAKE FLUID LOW" warning came on in the instrument cluster. The warning and the failure happened simultaneously, i.e. there was no indication of a problem until the braking system failed entirely. The vehicle had no braking action at all from the hydraulic brake system. Upon inspection the seals in the master cylinder appear to have failed, pulling all of the brake fluid into the brake vacuum-booster. It is my understanding that a problem identical to this one led to several accidents and a recall in the 2013-2015 F150. Clearly the issue is not limited to those model years as my truck is a 2011.
