2021 FORD F-150 HYBRID Complaints

13800 miles, broken axle/wheel bearing retaining bolt. Screeching noise. Bad wheel bearing. Dealer will not replace wheel bearing because they do not correlate the broken bolt to a bad wheel bearing. Leaving me with a bad wheel bearing that I consider prematurely worn out and is making a clicking sound. Dealer says they cannot replicate the noise so will not investigate further

Myself and several other individuals with 2021/2022 Powerboost F-150s are experiencing an issue where the whole vehicle will lurch forward as if hit from behind after coming to a stop. This can result in the truck hitting the vehicle in front of you if you are in tight traffic.

In May 2022, the passenger side right rear axle bolt sheared off creating a squealing/grinding noise from that wheel. The only thing holding the wheel onto the axle were the brake caliper bolts. The repair involved a new axle. In early Sept 2022, the driver side rear axle bolt sheared off with the same results. The vehicle is now in the shop waiting for the parts to arrive. Dealer advised that this is a serious safety issue and requested that the vehicle be towed to the service center.

The rear right axle bolt sheared off at 12.5k miles. if you google "rear right axle bolt 2021/2022 f150" there are THOUSANDS of people with the same issue. Thank god I heard the sound as it rattled around. I can't imagine the danger of driving down the highway at speed with my children in the back and the tire ends up sliding off. Ford is pretending this does not require a recall, yet tens of thousands of people on the forums have the same issue

Passenger side rear axle retention bolt sheared off in normal driving conditions (no incident). Heard a knocking sound in rear wheel, removed center cap and found the axle retention bold broken off with bolt head and washer bouncing around in the center cap. Dealer says the part has been redesigned and will be replaced under warranty. Was told vehicle is unsafe to drive.

The driver side rear axle retaining bolt sheared off rendering the truck not drivable. The truck is at the Ford dealership I purchased it from waiting for a replacement part. This is such a common problem that the axle shaft is on back order, so I am without my truck until the parts are available. Upon researching online I have found this to be a common problem that Ford is very much aware of but have not taken action to correct.

My truck is 2021 f150 powerboot. I got message “ stop safely now” and unable to start the engine. This is happened twice . The first time is about 20K miles, the second times is happened on 8/13/2022 at 55k miles. I brought my car to dealership for first time and service manager told me they waited on ford company for instruction. But no one call me for recall or advice. Please help us. Thank you

The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, a humming and tapping sound was present coming from the rear undercarriage of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the underbody insulator was faulty and had caused damage to the driveshaft. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact indicated that the vehicle was previously inspected under the NHTSA Campaign Number 21V986000 (Power Train, Structure) however, the vehicle experienced a failure after the inspection. The failure mileage was 26,836.

Drivers side rear axle bolt sheared off. Noticed noise coming from rear while driving, removed wheel, bolt head and washer fell to the ground. Bolt head and washer we’re both retained. Local dealerships (albuquerque, NM) do not have the capacity to diagnose the truck for a minimum of two weeks. The structural integrity of the axle and drivetrain are in question.

Broken retaining bolt holding the wheel on the right rear axle. Dealer said too dangerous to drive so they replaced axle. Dealer has old axle and broken bolt. This problem exists in the 2021 F150 Powerboost truck with 9.75 in 3/4 floating axle. Several postings on F150 forum of this happening to others with same truck. Nothing holding rear wheel on except brake caliper if bolt brakes and wheel wobbles loose. When service tech takes wheel off to rotate tires the broken bolt falls on the floor.
