2021 FORD F-150 HYBRID Complaints

The wheel hub axle bolt sheared off under normal conditions-dealer was unaware this was even an issue and told me the bolt they found within my wheel assembly and its attached washer was picked up off of the road (road debris) that they removed it and it would not grind anymore. I did basic research as an uninformed consumer and within seconds learned this is an issue on hundreds of other power boost pickup trucks. There is extensive documentation online regarding this issue. I called my dealer who has yet to respond to me. This is a major safety issue-the only thing holding the wheel on is the brake caliper. With as many documented cases as I can easily see online-the fact that my dealer is not aware of this indicates Ford has done nothing about it. This should be a recall. Please advise.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact had received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V193000 (Electrical System) and the vehicle was taken to the local dealer and the integrated trailer brake control module software was updated. The recall repair was completed. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the trailer brake module fault warning message was displayed and turn signals were blinking rapidly. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. When drive train goes into electric drive mode, the vehicle will jump/lurch/bang after stopping like I was hit by another car pretty hard. This will only happen when the engine either goes into hybrid electric mode or engine turns off after a stop in sport and other modes. It will not happen in tow mode where the engine stays on. The issue is the aux pump on the transmission going bad, this was found by dealer and part is on national backorder. Truck can jump a foot forward at red light if foot is not smashing the brake pedal down - seems to be an issue popping up daily on forums from others having issues.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the gear shifter seized while shifted in park(P) and was unable to shift to the intended gear. Additionally, the gear shifter fractured when the contact forcefully shifted out of the park(P). The contact had been waiting for the vehicle to be towed to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and was forwarded to roadside assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 1,500.

Truck does not always does not always downshift to a lower gear at a stop and instead remains in 8th gear. This poses a safety risk do to a lack of acceleration and also causes an unanticipated sudden jerk when it does finally does engage in a lower gear.

Left rear axle bolt sheared off into the wheel spontaneously. It is available for inspection. . Currently at dealer right now for repair. Dealer indicates vehicle not safe to drive due to potential for loss of wheel, brake components and wheel hub/axle during travel. I have not experienced loss of a wheel while driving luckily. There were no warning lamps/messages etc. No symptoms of the problem prior to failure were noted. The only sign of an issue was loud squealing from the left rear wheel when brakes were applied or when turning the steering wheel slightly either right or left. The vehicle was unlocked, and I was in bed. At 1:35AM the tailgate just opened without any input from me (the remote was in another part of the house), and I received an alert from FordPass that the tailgate has been opened. I immediately checked the area outside and it was dark as I live in a very rural area. I turned on the all zone lightning, and nothing was seen. I closed the tailgate remotely, and I heard it latch properly.

The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the windshield wiper motors to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. I took the vehicle in for a tire rotation and oil change at approximately 18,000 miles. The dealer informed me that the passenger side rear axle bolt had sheared off and that the bolt had to be drilled out and replaced. The repair did not solve the problem and now the axle has to be replaced.

On several occasions, the cruise control has failed to disengage when applying the brake. It does not happen every time but it is unsettling when it does happen. When it does happen, the engine and the baking system are working against each other.
