2013 FORD FOCUS Complaints

The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted and stated that the VIN was not included in the recall. No further assistance was performed. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V515000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage 100,000.

Tire lost pressure impossible to get lug nuts off . Tire dealer said all lugs nuts were defective and needed to be replaced. Couldn’t be done middle of road very dangerous 12/12 2022

The contact stated the vehicle stalled after the initial start-up, causing the contact to release and then depress the accelerator pedal for the transmission to properly select the desired gear while accelerating. Additionally, while accelerating uphill, the vehicle was jerking until driving on a flat surface. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer and the clutch assembly was replaced. The failure reoccurred and the contact returned the vehicle to the dealer where the transmission and clutch were replaced; however, the failure recurred, and the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

Loss of power when engaged, transmission slips to lower gear causing u to slow down and will not engage back in to drive then jerks when gas is applied. I have eluded several accidents and cause others to swerve to miss me. Check engine light is on. When taken in to dealer they have changed the TCM 3 or 4 times but is still doing the same thing.

Additionally, the dealer failed to honor the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V735000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). However, the contact stated that the vehicle still had the original parts impacted by the recall. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

Transmission car will not shift gears stuck in 1st gear .. pulling code . P.O.7A5.(1/3) stored. Hood latch keeps saying open. Alarm keeps going off. Driver assist doesn't work.

The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 77,671.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission failure message was displayed. The contact's husband pulled over, and the vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the clutch needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the clutch. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there was no Customer Satisfaction Program associated with the VIN. The failure mileage was unknown.

The power steering randomly fails (it was raining each time) making it difficult to control the car. It lasts from 2-15 seconds.

Car Mileage is 67K. Noticed the car is shuddering and little jerk upon moving the car, upon calling the ford customer service, was being told there is a recall for transmission control module, went to a service center and was been told it needs a full transmission replacement and there was no control module affected. I have noticed in the forums that it is common problem across all Ford Focus and causes shuddering. This has caused me a concern given the mileage is less than 68K and the transmission has gone bad incurring huge budget for repairs. There are no warning lamps or any other symptoms.
