2014 FORD FUSION Complaints

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, there was a significant amount of white smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with coolant intrusion into the engine block. The dealer recommended the long block needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V209000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) because the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 102,330.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while stopped in a parking lot with the engine running, the steering wheel independently started turning to the left. The contact stated that the Hill Start Assist, stabili-trak, and Loss of Power Steering Assist messages were displayed. The contact stated that the steering wheel was very difficult to turn. The contact stated there was smoke coming from under the hood. The contact turned off the vehicle and after opening the hood, the contact observed power steering fluid leaking onto the exhaust manifold. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer nor an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V250000 (Steering). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

My car when it is parked it will randomly pop the trunk. A lot of issues I’m seeing is ford fusions 2014 and up! Few of my friends are having the same issues especially with keyless entry pad it’s causing issues from water damage or heat causing the car to to this! Their needs to be recall on that cause kids doors aren’t locking properly I have kids I had someone almost steal my car cause my trunk was popped open by itself! This is my second time reporting this I have [XXX] [XXX] and [XXX] I need my car! The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 25 MPH, the Hill Assist warning light illuminated, prompting the driver to return to the residence. After a visual inspection, the contact became aware that the rear brake lights failed to turn off and remained illuminated continuously even without the brake pedal being depressed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer nor an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Safety Recall 22S02, Supplement #1. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 155,000.

Took the car in for a forced recall it was the bushing on the transmission and now our transmission failed when it had showed no problems. The service department is claiming no fault.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a failure in the steering wheel. The vehicle was not repaired. A local dealer was also contacted, and confirmed the vehicle was not under recall. The contact related the failure to NTSA Campaign Number: 19V632000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 109,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be serviced. The contact stated while picking up the vehicle, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure. The dealer diagnosed that the O2 sensors had failed and informed the contact that a fee would be charged for the repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 132,819.

My vehicle has lost all power steering, and is giving notice that steering assist fault service is required. The vehicle also is manufactured and produced during they same time recall notice 19S26 came out, however, Ford is stating the VIN is not associated with that recall.

I recently noticed that the bolt that secures the steering wheel to the steering column has become loose. This seems to be the same problem for which a recall was issued but my vehicle wasn't included in the recall. I haven't had anyone look at it yet because it just started coming loose.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the "Engine Coolant Overtemperature" message had flashed on the instrument panel while driving at an unknown speed. The contact added coolant to the coolant reservoir because the coolant level was low. Two days later, the vehicle started to jerk and hesitate upon the depression of the accelerator pedal with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was discovered that coolant had saturated the entire engine which resulted in engine failure. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V209000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) which was linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle related to the engine. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 162,000.
