2014 FORD FUSION Complaints

2014 Ford Fusion 1.5 Eco boost engine now has 37,000 miles coolant leak into cylinders. Coolant container empty's quickly. Car is undrivable over heats causing a problem driving on the highway. Two mechanics confirmed.

My 2014 Ford Fusion lost all power steering and this seems to be a very common problem and when I called Ford customer service they said the VIN did not have a recall for this issue even though it seems to happen to a lot of people. This is a very dangerous situation and I can't afford to fix it so please make them do a full recall for the effected years not just specific VINs because obviously the issue is still continuing in 2024.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, there was white smoke coming from the exhaust pipes and the engine was misfiring. Additionally, the check engine warning light had remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that engine coolant had leaked into the engine cylinders and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not eligible for the Manufacturer’s Extended Coverage for the failure. The failure mileage was 75,000.

My torque converter is going out in my 2014 FORD FUSION SE and it caused me to almost get t-boned twice and hit in the rear once. I pull out of the driveway and it cuts off and won't move. No engine light was on and that's a safety hazard. The dealer is telling me to continue to drive it and if it does it again take a video. The vehicle is getting looked at tomorrow as I will show the video I took too the dealership and they will actually take me seriously. I was told it was low on transmission fluid which is why I began driving it again and it happened two more times while getting it to the dealership. This could cause a hazard to others on the road and myself, it could cause injury or even death. I was so scared getting stuck in the middle of the road of oncoming traffic.

The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving on another occasion. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.

Shifter Cable bushing and cover Car would not move when putting into drive or reverse. It was the Shifter Cable bushing that had to be replaced. We were told that this issues was covered on OTHER vin number vehicles but not our car. WHY???

Additionally, the Service Steering message was displayed. The contact stated the steering wheel was stiff and required extra effort to turn the steering wheel. The contact drove to the destination and parked the vehicle. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and the power steering functionality returned. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent but had become a recurring failure. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was diagnosed but was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V250000 (Steering). The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact initially discovered that the engine was consuming an excessive amount of coolant. There was no warning light illuminated. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that the coolant level was low; however, the contact later discovered that the coolant level was low again soon after topping off the coolant reservoir. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that coolant was leaking into an engine cylinder. The dealer was notified of the failure and was given an estimate for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NTHSA Hotline. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH during a rainstorm, the contact became aware that the electronic power steering was not functioning properly. The advanced traction control and hill assist warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the steering housing was cracked. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V632000 (Steering), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 201,000.

The latch holding the driver door closed failed and the door would not close. This issue has happened before and been addressed by previous recalls but continues to be an issue.
