    The shifter cable bushing malfunctioned. I could not shift the car out of park even though the gear shift inside the vehicle would move. There is a recall for this in other Ford vehicles but not for my vehicle. I feel like there should be a recall for the group my vehicle falls under as it happened to me.

    The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated when she starts the vehicle, it vibrates, the steering wheel was difficult to operate, and the instrument panel would not illuminate occasionally. The check engine and other unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed with a failure for the instrument panel and was repaired about 7 months ago; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired for vibrating and steering failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 49,000.

    The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated and started shaking upon the depression of the accelerator pedal, without warning. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train) however, the part for the recall repair was unavailable. The contact also stated that while attempting to park the vehicle, the gear shifter failed to move out of the drive(D). The contact engaged the parking brake and called a mechanic for assistance. The mechanic discovered that the cable bushing was defective and was able to correct the issue; the contact was able to drive the vehicle back to the residence where the vehicle remained parked. The dealer was notified of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer had been notified of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 177,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

    When the car interior gets very hot, the driver's seat belt tensioner refuses to disengage, preventing the driver from fastening his seat belt. This has occurred several times, over several summers; this was not just a one-time occurrence.

    The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The contact stated that the brake lights remained illuminated whether the vehicle was running or turned off. Due to the failure, the contact had to jumpstart the vehicle due to the battery being drained. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer where she was provided an estimate for the repair. Upon investigation, the contact discovered recalls on the 2014 and 2015 model year vehicles for the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred her to the NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 159,000.

The dealer diagnosed that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V209000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

    The contact' daughter owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while his daughter was driving at 60 MPH, the vehicle began to overheat. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact daughter's veered to the side of the road and waited for the vehicle to cool down. The contact son-in-law met his daughter and assisted with refilling coolant in the vehicle. The contact's daughter was able to continue driving. However, the failure reoccurred several times while driving. The contact stated that his daughter would need to check the coolant level prior to driving. The vehicle was taken to several independent mechanic who informed the contact that they could not duplicate the failure. The contact, an independent mechanic, diagnosed that both oil and coolant were leaking. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V551000 (Engine And Engine Cooling). The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall associated to the failure. The manufacturer also advised the contact that they could not assist due to the mileage. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 113,000.
