2014 FORD FUSION Complaints

The trunk of my 2014 Ford Fusion SE has been opening up randomly on its own for at least 3 years now. The trunk opens up at completely random times and is not exclusively associated with use of the car. The trunk opens up overnight as much as when the car is in use, unlocked, locked, or when the trunk has been purposely opened by me. My safety is put at risk because it provides unlocked access to the contents of my trunk to the public. My safety is put at risk because it has opened while driving. The safety of others is put at risk because my trunk opening while driving could effect my driving such that other drivers in my vicinity will be put at risk. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. The vehicle or component has been inspected by the manufacturer and others and were not able to reproduce the problem. The other symptom of the problem is that the car will unlock and lock itself randomly while driving, indicated by the unlock/lock sound that the car makes. These symptoms and problems first appeared in 2019.

My son completely lost control over the steering wheel while driving on the high way with 65mph, he hardly managed - was lucky - to control the vehicle till it stopped safely. I can not emphasize how much dangerous this was (he received alarm on the dashboard and lost steering power directly after the alarm ).

The contact’s daughter owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at an unknown speed, the power steering assist warning light illuminated. The contact then stated that the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the steering wheel was sticking. The contact stated that the steering wheel then became inoperable. The power steering service message was displayed. The vehicle was undriveable. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the steering wheel needed to be replaced. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V250000 (Steering). The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline; however, no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 77,410.

My child and I were traveling. We were getting off an exit to put some gas.That exit was a bit Icy with snow but when we saw it was to late to stop. On that exit their was a huge pot hole impossible to see and for me to stop in time, my speed was 35 mph and slowing down on the exit. When i went down the exit and hit the pot hole it sounded horrible my son started to panic and i pulled over right away. My tire pressure light turn on as soon as we hit the pot hole. I was very lucky that a man saw everything and came to help. He has stated that the same thing had happened to his wife the day before. My original tire was a Nexen 235/40R19 Dot UAM3 CMBR 1921.

While navigating normal road conditions, the vehicle continues pull in the direction of a turn and requires more effort than normally needed to correct direction. This happens while turning in both directions but is more noticeable to the left. There are no warning messages. Was advised by Ford Dealership where vehicle was purchased and routinely maintained that the entire steering rack requires replacement and that there are no serviceable parts within that steering rack. The price for repair stated to be $3,475.00. There are multiple steering recalls listed for this vehicle, however my VIN number is not included in these recalls.

I receive this message sporadically. It disables the heat and air to my vehicle, also the passenger side front and rear window locks. When it's cold the heat does not work and when it's hot the air does not work. Also, when it rains or if it's a muggy day the windows fog up and I'm unable to defrost them. This is a major hazard. Can you please assist?! "Temporarily lost communication with the Climate System"

started to drive and it said pull over Loss Steering - Now ford is saying it will be no safety recalls. The same year fusion has steering recall for the same reason rust and corrosion.

Unknown but every time I get gas my car basically tries to stall out or does stall out. Has stalled out 2x while at a red light. Has been happening the entire time I have owned this car. Over a year and half

While driving heard a noise and saw a warning light on the dash light up, took it in to be checked and was told the brake hoses just suddenly busted.
